Link works fine for me.

game124: i actually got it on ebay.
It is likely not the case, but it could have been a counterfeit copy. I have seen many convincing games, both console games like ds and also pc games, as convincing counterfeits there before. They are often used to sell modified or non-existent roms or editions of some cartridge console titles and PC games.

Does the game have blood spatter in it? If that is the case then they might have indexed it. I believe they do so for games with blood that is red in color in games.

It has blood of many colors, including red.

JAAHAS: Actually, I hardly ever uninstall games unless I have totally lost any hope of ever wanting to finish them and I used FAT16 until I finally replaced DOS 6.22 with Windows 98SE, so by that time my computer had a lot of 2GB partitions
When Blake Stone was released in 1993, most consumer, IBM-compatible PC BIOSes were restricted to being able to address a maximum IDE disk size of approximately 500MB. I think my largest drive back then was a whopping 420MB that I bought at the tail end of the year, so I regularly deleted games I had completed or I didn't like to make room for new ones. There were only a handful of fairly small, good games I kept around permanently.

These days I have disk space to burn and then some, so unless I dislike a game I'll usually just keep it installed.
avatar
JAAHAS: and even with FAT32 I always got annoyed when I found yet another game that had some 6000 files in a few dozen folders, as having them packed into bigger asset files would have made running scandisk much faster after each BSOD.
I totally agree. When a game has that many individual assets it's much easier to manage if they are packed. Bonus points if they are packed in an easily accessible format, such as with id Tech 3 PK3 files which are just renamed ZIP files.

That might index it then. I think red blood and other things get indexed there often.

Nah...I can't see it either. But the fact, that I can't see it, doesn't keep me from posting the link...and as ZFR has affirmed: the link works - for people not in Germany.

Aliens versus Predator Classic
Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold
Blood 2: The Blood Group
Blood: One Unit Whole Blood
BloodRayne
BloodRayne 2
Cannon Fodder
Carmageddon 2: Carpocalypse Now
Carmageddon Max Pack
The Chaos Engine
Far Cry
Harvester
Kingpin: Life of Crime
Lucius
Medal of Honor: Allied Assault War Chest
Painkiller Black Edition
Phantasmagoria 2: A Puzzle of Flesh
Postal 2
Postal: Classic an Uncut
Red Faction
Red Faction 2
Redneck Rampage Collection
Rise of the Traid: Dark War
Rune Classic
Shadow Warrior Classic Complete
SiN Gold
Star Wars: Dark Forces
Total Overdose: A Gunslinger’s Tale in Mexico
Unreal Tournament 2004 Editor’s Choice Edition
Unreal Tournament GotY
Mortal Kombat 1+2+3

Translation:

GOG blocks 31 games for German buyers.
GOG now follows Steam's example, and blocks certain titles in Germany.
At the beginning of June, with reference to the Steam group ForUncut, we reported that Valve had removed nearly 30 tracks from the German Steam Store.

Now GOG follows, and removes a larger number of games for buyers from Germany, too.
Affected are the following 31 titles:

(See list above)

If you have already purchased the listed titles, you need not worry about them.
The games remain in your library and can still be downloaded.

It should be noted here, that some titles were not available for German buyers even before this (for example, Quake III), blocking the new titles is therefore only an extension.
This step is still ugly and it remains to be seen how this evolves further.

So the game is refusing because it's region locked?
How annoying. I HATE region locking of games/videos/media.

How else am i suppose to get my fill of underwater Korean tentacle swordfighting & rap battle porn with German subtitles?

Not sure if serious, but no. It's a DOS game.

Incidentally, these games on the index are not "region locked". They're completely legal to play in Germany, just not to buy. If you buy them, they run fine.

Hmmm.... Curious. I didn't think Dos had region locking, but there are different keyboard layouts which could be used as a region detection type. Or maybe certain bits in the command.com or io.sys file that determines general region.

game124: .
Regardless, i have two versions of Blake Stone (GoG and a secondary source), if key files are corrupted i could offer them if need be. I'm sure it would be fine.

No, sorry. The game page is region blocked. The game, once downloaded, runs fine. But GOG isn't allowed to advertise indexed games in Germany. So the page advertising the game isn't visible from a German IP.
I still own the game and it is in my account. I can download and play it without problem. But I can't access the store page without some tricks. That's why the link provided in this thread doesn't work for German customers.

Gotcha... I thought we were going over problems with the game (so he can play it), not the GoG visibility to sell the game.
