I have twice the amount of memory I need for this Grimrock game but
It says in the specification it needs a Shader Model 3 engine for the video.

Where can I check to see if the above model motherboard has this ability?
It's not a feature of your motherboard, but your GPU.

Yes I'm aware of that. The specifications online didn't seem to have the shader model
of the ONBOARD GPU.
"You need at least 4 mm of tire tread depth to drive safely in snowy conditions."
- "How can I check if my engine produces 4 mm of tire tread depth?"

Because it doesn't have one.

That's probably because the GPU is not on the motherboard but on your CPU...

John_Talent_Lutz:
EDIT: Mortius1 has kindly done the research for you below my post.

So what you have to do is ensure you are indeed using integrated graphics, then check which processor model you have they google that. Example: SEARCH >> core i5-6600 << then you google that particular model's specifications, if needed.

Every CPU with integrated grahpics that works with that motherboard supports Shader Model 3.

Every Core-ix (and Pentiums/Celerons of the same generation) support it.

Edit: Assuming you mean Legend of Grimrock 2 (the other doesn't mention SM3), the store page lists the minimum as Intel 5200 or better.

5200 is in Inte's Iris Pro line. The graphics in the CPUs supported by your motherboard are probably HD530.
This is newer, but slower, with 23 or 24 compute units instead of 40. 5200 also comes with fast EDRAM. If you have a Pentium or Celeron, the graphics will be even slower.

You may find your integrated graphics are too slow for the game.

Thanks Mortius! Cool name by the way. It reminds me of my friend's nick back in '90 was Mortis Darkcloud. ( I was Silicon Knight and our other friends was Mike The Cleric. Good time.

Thank you much for the kind reply!
