Hi, I use the Galaxy client to help manage time played and achievements for several games. However, I've recently noticed that GalaxyClient Helper.exe takes anywhere from 4% all the way to over 20% of my CPU time and anywhere from 100MB to 300MB of RAM when idle. I have a good rig with an i5-6600k, so I'm wondering why it seems to be taking so much of my CPU and RAM, even when doing literally nothing.

Edit: Not sure why, but this appears to be listed as having negative replies? I added a picture with proof.

It does a lot actually, constantly checking for new messages, installed and running games and several other things. Keeping in memory bunch of pictures and visited pages.
Resource usage will vary from version to version and added/optimized features. That's why it's called beta..

Maybe, but steam manages to do all that with far more games and far fewer resources. I'm just wondering if there's a way to fix it or if I need to stop letting it run at boot.

Steam client, I believe, already exist on the market for about eleven or so years..
Current version of Galaxy doesn't take even 1% of my (i5-460m) CPU time when idle, it's not everyone's problem. Perhaps you should fill a report at mantis
