This is my first post so:
Hi everyone!
I very rarely post things on the Internet but here it goes...

Up till some time ago I was very sad that GOG Galaxy was not available on Linux (my main platform for day-to-day tasks and work). Quite recently I realized that actually my main GAME platform is.... my Galaxy Note8. I just finished Limbo, Ys Chronicles, Blackwell Legacy and some other games and I am currently playing Banner Saga. Next on the agenda is KOTOR and maybe Planescape Torment. We'll see.

Is there any chance to see GOG.com (and Galaxy, of course)expand to the Android platform? Many games have already been ported and more yet could be ported or emulated in some way.
Many people are gaming on mobile devices using mouse and keyboard or controller (all hail Galaxy DeX and full HD monitors) so on screen controls are not essential (although a nice addition so leaving home to catch a bus does not require quitting the game).
I realize that many ports/mobile versions are done by different developers than the 'original' game but still, maybe a deal can be made? Mobile platform is only going to be more and more important (look a Switch).

Damn I do not want to be restricted to one platform with my games library and, unless cloud gaming finally takes off, this might be as close as we get.
Humble Store used to have something like this, offering Android games in Humble Bundles as .apk installers. They even had (and still have?) an Android client which let you download and install the games on your Android device. You had to enable the installation of third-party (non-GooglePlay) applications in your Android security settings first, which may put off some newbie users who think that opens up the gates to hell and brings them all kinds of malware (and I guess Google generally wants to discourage people from getting Android applications elsewhere, than from GooglePlay; e.g. you could never download the Humble Bundle Android client from GooglePlay, I wonder why? It was a direct competitor to GooglePlay.).

However, Humble Store hasn't offered new Android games for a long time, so I presume it wasn't that profitable to them. Apparently Android gamers generally get their games from Google Play anyway, and also I've heard that in the mobile (phone) gaming market most of the gaming is free-to-play games (with microtransactions), ie. very few people actually buy games for their phones. The whole mobile gaming is much more concentrated on microtransactions with free-to-play games, than PC/Windows gaming is (even if the latter has quite much of that as well).

If you specifically mean that GOG would try to release non-Android games on Android with emulators, DOSBox and whatnot... there the extra hurdle is that GOG has to agree about that first with the game publishers, whether GOG is allowed to try to sell the game on a totally different platform.

Plus, I don't know overall how hairy the compatibility situation is in the Android world, ie. do many games become useless as soon as Google releases a new Android version, and how a game works on various different Android devices with very different architectures, Android versions, screen sizes etc. I think Android has similar backwards-compatibility issues as Windows, and then some.

I recall that back when Humble Store was still selling and releasing those Android games, some games came with like 5 different versions which were meant for different Android devices (e.g. based on what kind of CPU or graphics chip the device had). I recall trying to find out left and right which of them would be the right version to use on my ASUS Android tablet, or my Samsung phone.

EDIT: Which reminds me that maybe I should go recheck what Android games I have on my Humble Bundle account, and redownload them all if still possible. I think I should have them in my archive already, but just to be sure, IF some of them have received any updates.

So the humble store is something like that but not quite. Their application was very stripped, basically a downloader connected with your account. Not at all a competitor to Google Play.
Yes, Google has a monopoly here, not even Amazon could make a dent in that however I wonder if they even tried. I never really heard of any good offers there, etc.

In my opinion, having a stripped down client but with basic functionality like cloud-saves, maybe achievements but also access to store and basic info about an app. I would use that :)
That of course depends if devs would go for it. If it would be possible to buy, for example, Baldurs Gate and have it on PC and a phone.

Then again, GOG Galaxy is still not available on all supported platforms so maybe it's not as obvious. I just wonder if GOG would see benefit in that. With phones being super-capable these days (I am able to play Zelda Wind Waker on mine...) and initiatives like Samsung DeX (essentially making your phone capable of full scale gaming platform) I would imagine it's worth to invest in this market. It's only going to grow.

Oh and I don't agree that mobile gaming is simple, microtransaction-based-games only. Sure, it's filled with 'free2play' games but there are gems there as well. And plenty of. And I am not even talking about games designed for nVidia Shield (where you can play Borderlands...)
