swat3player: Don't troll the thread, this is a serious question. This is not steam's forum.

What is going on with the fair price thing? Has 2018 not been profitable? What if I buy games here, and the operation goes bankrupt and I lose everything?

Is this a sinking ship? I'm afraid to buy games here now.
No. they are not.

TerriblePurpose: You won't lose anything if you DL the installers and keep them backed up.
avatar
swat3player: That doesn't answer much.
Problem is, only GOG knows detailed info about their financial situation and they're not going to publicly say anything. Anything anyone here tells you about GOG's in-depth financial status is pure conjecture and assumption.

swat3player: To the trolls, wow I'm surprised even gog isn't free from them. I expected more mature answers.
So, what is it:

1.. You didn't like the answers you feared, so you just call others "troll" on a whim?

2. You yourself isn't mature enough to ignore posts you find offensive? Skip them if they are a problem for you. If the whole thread is going down the drain then seek help from GOGs staff. Here is the link: https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us.

3. Or you can't handle or understand humour/sarcasm?

To your question: No, just remain calm until an official GOG says otherwise... and if you'd read and followed the official (and other) thread you'd see that this is just an outbreak of pure panic.

Well, I don't know if GOG is going bankrupt anytime soon, but if it was the case, and if they gave us a warning before, I certainly would spend a lot of money in a "final sale" (not meaning a discount from GOG, but a last shopping cart from me) just for the sake of keeping games in DRM form.
GOG will be just fine. This is all about peaks and valleys. Its normal in any business.
Maybe if GOG was to introduce a new character, like a young boy named Cousin Oliver, it would help give them a lift and improve business.
OK thanks everyone for the replies. Can someone lock this now?

I don't know what's weirder - that I got that refrence (given where I'm from), or that the only reason I did is that episode of The X-Files.

There was a Cousin Oliver reference in the X-Files?

Probably not, but of course nobody can give you a guarantee for that.

There was a whole episode built around a guy obsessed with the Brady Bunch who uses his powers to baisically live in an episode of the show as Cousin Oliver. To make it even weiredr, it was the penultimate episode of the show's original run. The X-Files almost ended on a crossover with the Brady Bunch.

Seek out chandra - she's the keymaster around here.

Haven't seen the gatekeeper in a long time now, though...

Couldn't tell you. Regardless a digital platform like this could go with a skeleton crew (1-2 people) and just pay for server/bandwidth and last a very long time, even longer if they support a P2P torrent-like data sharing system so they don't have to front the cost for bandwidth.

Also CDPR after the success with The Witcher 3... i don't think they are for the chopping block any time soon.
