as opposed to fake danmaku-games?
as opposed to real danmaku-movies?
Well, I would say, yes.

Like comparing Crimzon Clover to Sine Mora. Both great games, don't get me wrong. But Crimzon Clover I would consider to be a real danmaku and Sine Mora is more of a hybrid between a bullet hell game and an ordinary shmup. This also affects the difficulty ouf course.

Edit: This does not mean that Sine Mora is just a cakewalk.

You know, if you'd just called it bullet hell from the start, more people might have known what you're talking about. Though I still have no clue what constitutes a fake as opposed to a real one...

I guess you are right. That could have made things a lot easier. xD

There are no "fake" ones. It's difficult to describe. But there are the ones that force you to dogde for example and the ones that always let you cancel bullets, bomb entire bosses away without any consequences or stuff like that.

I would consider most of the games from cave or the touhou series as "real" bullet hell games.

I'd rather have a danbooru-game, than danmaku.

As it stands, I can't stomach bullet hell, much less some advanced space shooters. I like to feel like I have a realistic chance, not that I'm trapped on some thrill ride glowing like a Christmas tree spinning at 255 kph.

Pretty good description. ;)
