apehater: looks like we can't buy discounted games as a gift, when not owning them. so far this only applies to the insomnia games, but could be implemented on every discounted game. this is a hit to condemn trading here.

JMich: Considering that they do encourage you to gift games in the insomnia FAQ, I'd say they do not condemn trading.
maybe that refers only to the freebies?

5, 6 and 10. All say you can gift items.

My guess would be that the "only gift items you own" was a logistic reason, to ease a bit the server load. Not a motion to condemn trading.

Edit: I also cannot seem to turn the "use store credit" off, so I do stand by the logistics reasoning.

omega64: It's really annoying, actually wanted to buy a few gifts. :l
Perhaps it's due to the really limited quantities this time.

Starmaker: It's to prevent "trading", as in, stockpiling discounted games. Discounts are meant for living customers, not for middlemen such as the OP to make money off resale when the price goes back to normal.
oh snap...I didn't notice the OP had those intentions.

You need your eyes checked.
(To reiterate, I was talking about the OP, not the user I quoted.)

And for that matter they're not meant to be used as fodder for the scammers to use on other users.

On that note, I expect to see this in the coming months: A lot of people angry that for some mysterious reason, the GOG games that they bought off of G2A or Kinguin have stopped working or are no longer in their account library.
