DosFreak: Sigh. Goldberg did not release the Max Payne 3, GTA IV or GTA V fix on github since it's also a crack as well but it is out there and it works. This has nothing to do with the Goldberg Steam Emulator. The EPIC and Steam versions are basically the same and the same Goldberg files can be used on both to remove the Launcher and rockstar requirements.
if I have to use a crack I don't need a steam emulator... I just use a crack

this reminds me of the nier automata crack... amazing little feature, especially with the upgraded graphics mod if your pc handles it. the crack also included the option to disable denuvo

Civilization VI was released as the new free game on Epic Game Store, does this also have the double DRM issue?

No, it's DRM-free. Doesn't even need the Epic Launcher to start (only to download - of course - and then you just open CivilizationVI.exe or CiviliztionDX12.exe inside \SidMeiersCivilizationVI\Base\Binaries\Win64EOS).

Sadly most of the time the cracks also include steam emulators. It's rare for a Steam game "crack" to not use a Steam emulator wether it's an open source one like Goldberg or one created by the group releasing the crack.

that's true. I just said that Goldberg alone is not enough to secure steam games from drm
