zavlin: i think everyone knew that. But Lucas's claim is that from his interpretation, its not how it should be.
i think we can all agree lucas's opinion is meaningless and we are just lucky he is not behind the new movies.
Definitely, you can tell as we were treated to a completely new story and not rehash of a plot. :)
I bet there's going to be some cheeky refrence to this in the Pointless Adventures of Young Han Solo spin off. There's going to be a scene where Han and Greedo face off, Han shoots him first, and leaves saying something like "don't worry, next time I'll let you shoot first". And then they'll throw me out of the theatre for shouting "fuck you" so loud the people in the next room went deaf.

sunshinecorp: Or rather, only Han shot.
To add my only two serious cents to the discussion, what does the original book say, since that would be the source material, which from what I understand is close to 1:1 to the movie. If Lucas says Han didn't shoot first, then he didn't shoot first; Instead mistakes were made during making the original film.

But what do I know...

Not much apparently, if you think the book is closer to the movie than, you know, the script and the fucking movie :D

He should just admit it and move on. Perhaps he's just peeved that no one liked his new interpretation of Han as much as he did.
Yo Allen Greedo was a punk, he had that blaster bolt comin XD
Allen Greedo was a cool dude. I'm sure he survived and is just chillin' somewhere now.
I mean people in StarWars survived worse shit than single blaster shot, just look at Maul lol :D.

nightcraw1er.488: Actually it was an imperial sniper on the small hill.
LOL. And I thought it was weather balloons.

I'm not sure. The one where he met the Dude was awesome. The other ones were kind of lame though.

<i>"In the fourth season (SW: Clone Wars), Darth Maul himself returns. In his story arc, Maul survives his duel with Obi-Wan, but is driven insane by being cut in half, and suffers from amnesia for the next decade."</i>

I bet such thing would drive me crazy as well.

Yeah because "mean man scary face" was such a great character that they just had to bring him back.

Yeah he was at that grassy knoll on tatooine outside of heeba jeeba's cantina and junk supply. He bounced the shot off a trooper in a motorcade. XD
