tinyE: In Stardew Valley, besides aesthetics, is there any other difference in a stone path as opposed to a wood one?
This is a serious question BTW.
I don't use wooden path much (stone is plentyful), but unlike fences, all path appear to be quite durable. I've got a few that were destroyed by encroaching plants or freak accidents (ligntning?), but not much.
Beside aestetics (and the speed you get, but I think it's the same for every kind of path), you should also consider the sounds. For example, I built a gravel path between my fields and the southern gate, and although it's very useful (It prevents plants and rocks from blocking the way to Marnie's farm), I dislike the sound of crunching gravel that I get every time I use it. I'll probably upgrade it to paved stones or a wooden plankway this winter.
