Hey. I am trying to open the side panel of my PC so that i can clean it with compressed air. This is the first time i am doing it.

I have figured out i need to unscrew the bolts at the back of the PC case and then remove the panel. However even after taking the bolts off, the side panel still won't go.

Am i missing something? Do i need to pull the panel really hard? What could be the reasons the side panel just won't let me open it?
This question / problem has been solved by InkPantherimage
Your case must have come with an instruction guide... but it should be easy enough to figure out. Some side panels need to be pulled upward a little before sliding out, since they have lower bracket retainers, but it very much depends on your case.

If you know the manufacturer/model, just google it and find the manual :P.

A life.
Exciting, we're about to learn what case OP has!

Yeah, common sense..
I hope this is a genuine question and not your daily spam..

On most cases there are only 2 bolts at the back of the case, however PC cases have a big variety, many OEM cases (such as HP, DELL, Lenovo, etc) have diferent locking mechanisms.

With that said, some metal side panels require quite a bit of force, usually fast pull with some vigour is enough. Check if the locking mechanism is not bent or damaged.

If your not able to do it, it's a good idea to post the case model or picture.

This is my first time doing it. What would common sense help with when you are doing something the first time.

That said, Regnum RG4 Pure Black
Slide it backward, the side panel normally "hooks" into the rest of the chasis.

You'll of course have to slide it back once done

You have to use some force to remove the cover. Hold the case with one hand and pull the cover with other (has a place to pull on the back, between the screws).

Do you remember the thread when you were asking why you couldn't just make your own graphics card by copying nVidia in every way?

There's a clue to why you couldn't do it in your opening post. For the avoidance of doubt, if you can't spot the clue in your post, that in itself suggests another reason!

That being said, I have done some googling on your behalf and found the linked manual for your case (If you're about to say you don't trust links posted on the internet, just google it yourself - it's one of the first things that comes up)

In most cases you either pull it backwards (possibly with some force till it slides back), or in some rarer cases you pull it towards the side that its in (in which case it opens like a door)

There's the possibility there's a locking mechanism on the back as well where you may have to push down a latch or something to free the casing.
go to the top of the highest building and throw it out , repeat until it is open
Usually you need to slide the panel towards where the screws were, sometimes you have to push slightly and slide it off.
Knowing what case it is would be of help.

Great - glad you got it sorted. Probably best to now mark this thread as solved.
