That's *really* bad.

Then again, FF9 has other issues, like the way stat gains depend on equipment at the time of level up (a mechanic that I *hate*, and to make matters worse, the game doesn't even tell you about this mechanic), and the fact that time doesn't stop during animations, resulting in the queue of actions building up, to the point where I have to enter the menu (on Wait mode) just to flush the queue out to actually see the situation properly (a problem shared with FF6, but it's worse in FF9).

Next time I'll try that trick.

I was really pumped when I saw Saga Frontier 1 on PC not because I cared for the first one, but because that hopefully means number 2 is on the way.

My obsessive compulsive does not allow me to simply "finish" the game if there are other things to be done. Besides, Gustave's story deserves a conclusion instead of being left to an ignominious husk.

To me, the announcement of that made me feel sad, as I likely won't get to play that version due to the lack of a DRM-free release. I may end up getting the game through less than legal means at some point, but not so soon after release, unless Square Enix decides to start releasing the games I actually associate with the company on DRM-free platforms. (And even then, I'm mainly interested on their older works and remasters of said works, not in most of their newer works.)

Also, note that SF1 and SF2 are very different games. (If you haven't played SF1 before, my advice is to not start with Lute or Riki; if you do decide to start as Lute anyway, don't take Captain Hamilton up on her offer until you think you're strong enough to beat the game.)
i hate all time limits
i suck at games as it is, dont time me on my suckage
these are garbage game "features" and should never be used
why they always want to force a way to play their game? makes no sense to me

I hate time limits. They add stress to games that I want to play to relax. That's why I don't play RTS.

Hidden time limits are just plain trolling and devs who program these into their games don't deserve a single cent for their games.

Turn limits sometimes make sense, in puzzle games. For example in chess puzzles: "Checkmate in 3 moves" is the important part of the puzzle that is to be solved. In other games it's just annoying. Turn based strategy with turn limits ... why? That just leads to save scumming and playing the scenario in just the way the programmer intended. In other words, it turns a strategy game into a pure puzzle game.

Reverse time limits sometimes make sense, if they are communicated. "Defend your position until reinforcements arrive", "You need to wait for rocketry to be developed before you can build missiles." "Wait until the gang leaders convene in the same place, before busting them." There are many scenarios, that justify waiting for some event in games before advancing.
