How can I disable the hud in these games?
I already posted threads in the game specific forums for the two games sold at GOG, but haven't received any replies, so I thought I'd post in the General forum too.
Pixeljunk Shooter - How can I remove that big yellow bar at the bottom of the screen and the black bar and logo that appear to be under it? (when you complete a level, the yellow bar goes away showing the black bar underneath for a couple seconds).
Area 51 - (the 2005 game, not Blacksite: Area 51). The game is free and needs a patch to run and a hack to fix the fov, but it looks decent. I can't seem to find a console or console commands, but there are config files where you can bind commands, I just don't know what command would let me hide the hud. In one of the files, a debug menu is mentioned, but when I tried to copy that binding into my configuration file, it didn't do anything in game. I'd like to keep the crosshair and the marker that appears on screen showing where the next objective is, but I'd like to remove the rest of the hud.
Red Faction 2 - For the moment I created a custom resolution of 1920x1920 in Win XP and set the game to that so that the hud renders out of frame, but this only seems to work in Windows XP with specific drivers and doesn't work in later versions of Windows (it tries to force everything on screen).
