For quite a long time I've noticed very negative tendencies in some specific kind of topics. And it's not about low rep for the posts which are sharing different opinion (it made a low rep for posts a totally meaningless long time ago), but rather about some reactions for a couple of topics which are appearing relatively often:
1. Someone wrote angry/unhappy topic about the game not working - truth be told, I know that there are a lot of PC gamers who have rather "console" approach to the games - "I just want to launch and play them, I'm not interested in doing anything with them to work, it shouldn't be my responsibility"). And despite the fact, that I'm someone who had a lot of situations (since Windows 95 up to all home versions of Windows released up to Windows 10) when I needed to make some tinkering, looking for solution etc, I respect the fact, that there are people who just want to buy and play games.
I don't like when someone is writing rude topic, but it's even more annoying when there are gathering people who are starting the ritual bashing the author of the topic - even if someone is writing more reasonable answer (like "write to support, try X and Y, and is NOT trying to tell the author how pathetic creature he is), it's flooded with posts of other people who are joining the party. Would be much, much better to just ignore those topics or put the info "you can do this and this" and leave it alone. You know, it sometimes (not always, sadly) turns out that even people who started rude topic but eventually found solution have let their emotions go away and started writing normally... But we never see this kind of things, because of making "ritual bashing".
2. Inputting immediately that someone has evil motivation - someone is writing about problems with getting reply about refund or that his/her game disappearing from the account - there is literally a flood of people who are starting to write "you surely bought it on G2A, don't steal GOG's money you thief" or "you surely downloaded the game and now want a refund, you're a thief" etc. In more cultural posts, but still presenting the same mentality - people are writing trivial lectures why using G2A or Kinguing is bad. And again, people are gathering and starting bashing the author of the topic. No offence, but if GOG has made the policy of returns as it is, it's people right to use it, the ritual of bashing is not going to change it. By the way - I had at least twice situation when games which I've bought on GOG had disappeared from my account and had to contact with tech support to explain it - fortunately in both cases I had my games back. Plus there are less advanced users who can have problem even if they have made some bar to disappear by accident. You don't need to bash them and call them stupid (or thiefs).
3. Someone stated that doesn't like the fact that X game is not working on GOG but has a version on Steam and it's working fine. Or that he like some feature on Steam, but it's not present on GOG. Many things like that - immediately reaction is that people are gathering and starting their litany "if you like steam, go there idiot and stop writing here". Like... seriously? Nobody using GOG is obliged to like everything and not saying positive things about other platforms.
Amount of purulence and bile generated in those topics could kill even Nurgle (master of diseases from WH universe). Do you think that there are any chances to decrease this toxicity?
