ScottGW: Every time there are giveaways for spending, I only earn games I already own. :(

But, I keep spending anyway.
That's actually great. You could use that for trading. GOG codes are usually more valuable than Steam codes around here. I actually was trying to trade my Steam code for Elex recently, for a GOG code. I just ended up buying Elex again on GOG.

Breja: I know, byt the reviews were so good and the setting looked interesting, so I was curious enough to give it a shot.

Lexor: When I've read reviews of Sunless Sea, people were comparing it to Darkest Dungeon (that's why Sunless Sea was on my wishlist) and in Darkest Dungeon any careless player will die a lot and start again over and over.
Nope. Darkest Dungeon is a legit roguelike in which skill matters. You can replay it and get better at it. (I don't like it, but people do.) Sunless Sea is an "exploration game" where the only thing randomized is the map. The "challenge" exists in the extremely narrow strip of conceptual space where the rapidly shrinking unknown can still hurt you but not a lot. The rest of the game, the known part, is a walking sim retread. Like an adventure game that you know the walkthrough to but with fewer audiovisuals.
Stop spending, start playing. I should also heed my own advice.
I honestly start to appreciate the fact that when I buy games I start playing them afterwards, this way every game that GOG has offered for free was one that I didn't own. Also this way I don't buy many games.

With nearly 1500 GOG games in my account, I usually have all the freebies or unlockables that GOG is offering... but this time it was different! I didn't have either of the unlockable games, and I think Sunless Sea + DLC was even in my wishlist IIRC. And the other unlockable game looked quite nice too, so I was very happy to earn both games.

It took a bit of research to find some games on sale that I would want to buy to unlock those games, but I ended up buying e,g, Homeworld: Emergence (yay!), Batman: The Telltale Series, the Sunless Sea DLC (after I had acquired the base game as an unlockable), and Close Combat 5.

There were a couple of other games I was about to buy like Dying Light, but their amount of separately purchasable DLC put me off so I decided to hold for now. With my luck, just after I buy them, they announce a Gold or Remake version of the game, with all DLCs included. Of course if those would be free to people who already own the base game + DLCs (like was with The Witcher 3 and the Darksiders games IIRC), then it would be ok. But I got burned before by that damn Omerta game...
