Every time there are giveaways for spending, I only earn games I already own. :(

But, I keep spending anyway.
ditto XD
Most of the time here also. But this time Rime was actually on my wishlist, I didn't get around to buy it yet and now I got it as a bonus for my spending habit. :-)

You'll get lucky once in a while too!

Really? I've heard different opinions. Maybe it's just your taste being different?

Probably. I shouldn't have said it isn't any good, it's just very much not the type of game I enjoy. Dying and starting the whole thing over again and again is something I hate, and the whole thing is way too heavily text based. I love reading, but that's why I spend most of my free time on reading books, so when I play a game I want something different, not more reading.

Well, it's one of main features of "roguelike"-kind games so do not play them. :D

I know, byt the reviews were so good and the setting looked interesting, so I was curious enough to give it a shot. There are some, very rare, exceptions after all, like Rogue Legacy which I really liked a lot.

When I've read reviews of Sunless Sea, people were comparing it to Darkest Dungeon (that's why Sunless Sea was on my wishlist) and in Darkest Dungeon any careless player will die a lot and start again over and over.

I get this issue a lot as well. Would be nice if GOG offered an alternative free game if you already owned their free one or even gave you a GOG wallet discount to whatever the game would`ve cost to buy.

Totally agree. The other really annoying thing in the whole free game milieu is when a game one already owns "goes free". Especially if one has not played it yet. When they change a game to free people who already own it should get a discount/voucher or whatever to the value of how much they paid for it.
This time I was lucky enough that I didn't had any of games given after spending sufficient amount of money (on the other hand, I already had Xenonauts).

But I can totally understand it, as it happened to me, not once. I see there already some interesting ideas for this issue, hard to tell which one is the most appealing for me, although I'm guessing that going into direction with wallet/discount would be the most optimal way.

I;m sure you;re aware of this but you can send the codes to Zeogold for his giveaway:

https://www.gog.com/forum/general/the_community_giveaway_gog_edition

Not everybody here has a whole lot of money. We have a good sized retiree crowd here.

edit: I:m sure if you donate games, Zeogold may be willing to offer something back.
