I have been using GOG for eight years, but just moseyed into the forums today. I'm probably doing something wrong, but I ran into a couple of issues:

> I can find no way whatsoever to change my profile picture/avatar. This is relatively minor, but I see plenty of other users with custom avatars. How do I change mine?

> Do I really have to abide by the double whammy of having to respond in a new, pop-up window every time I reply to a post, and then delete the quotation of the original post when I don't want to quote (which is almost all the time)? This seems like a strange way to communicate on forums nowadays.

Neither issue is a deal-breaker, but I would surely appreciate if anyone could tell me how to work around these problems.

And as for the post, yes you must comply by the double whammy.
But you can reply without quoting by clicking "+ new post" beside the search button.
