Is this site legit or not? I'm kinda having a hard time believing a game that otherwise costs 30$ on steam costs only 8 here.

Outlast 2, it costs 25$ normally, but it's 8$ here.
This site is legit, DRM-free & client is optional. But about the price, some games are cheaper and some are more expensive cause game companies expect us to pay no-DRM tax.

This site is owed by CD Projekt. Same company that owns CD Projekt Red, the developers of the Witcher 3. About as legit as you can get there bud.

As others noted, yes, it's legit (but why would you take the word of people on the forum of a site you find suspicious?) Anyway, to what game are you referring?

It's currently on sale (66% off) at GOG, that's why.

Outlast 2 is currently on sale here, 66% off (I have $10.19) Hope that helps. So yes, get it here if you so desire, the site is 100% legit.
Yep. Site is definitely legit. Price difference might be caused by current sale and/or regional pricing.

Edit: Hehe, multi-level ninja'd :)

As noted, it's part of GOG's Weekend Sale (they have one every weekend). On sale for just over another 5 1/2 hours, so pull the trigger soon if you want it.

One more thing, when I get a game, is it like with steam where I have to download an app to play the game, or is it just separately installed on my computer?

The client app (named Galaxy) is optional, but you can download games straight from your browser library DRM free called "backup offline installer".

You could just download installers through the browser, or, if game files are large and numberous, just download galaxy and it would be much faster.

There's a Steam-like program (Galaxy) that you can can install to manage your games and give you access to other Steam-like side benefits like achievements and cloud saving, if you want. But all games also have an offline "backup" installer that you can install from without ever needing to connect to a server to authenticate or anything. You don't get a Steam key with anything here, though.
