dtgreene: On a more serious note, I would consider this term to refer to games that have strong RPG elements as well as strong elements from other genres. Perhaps games like Magic of Scheherezade (which has two different battle systems, and one of them is turn-based), or Undertale (setup is like an RPG with turns, but on the enemy turn you have to dodge bullets in real-time) might qualify. Or, it could be a hybrid with a different genre; Quest for Glory would count here, and perhaps a Game Boy game called Sword of Hope.

In particular, I would contrast such games with what I've been calling "pure" RPGs, which are turn-based RPGs that don't borrow from other genres.
So do we call these hRPGs and pRPGs? Or whRPGs / jhRPGs and wpRPGs / jpRPGs?
