Now it's time to leave the capsule, if you dare.

The Solus Project, a captivating experience of solitary exploration and survival upon a deserted alien planet, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com with a 10% launch discount.

It's 2183 and humanity is looking for a planet to colonize. Your mission goes awry and you soon find yourself alone, stranded on a mysterious planet with no signs of life. But then, who put up those grandiose structures and why do the alien remains look so awfully humanoid? You need to shelter yourself from the temperamental, constantly shifting weather, collect items, and figure out what happened to the inhabitants of this desolate planet, while looking for a way to rescue yourself and contact your people.

The Solus Project focuses on the solitary aspect of the journey but developers Teotl Studios feel like it's finally time to share the almost-finished game with their fans and get some useful feedback on the features and the overall impact of the experience. They expect to release the final build within three months, but during that time they will keep polishing and unlocking content in an episodic manner until the whole game up to the final chapter is fully playable. Unless that menacing space tornado reaches their offices earlier than expected.

If you want to save Earth, surviving and deciphering the secrets of a mysterious alien planet will become your own Solus Project, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 10% discount will last until February 25, 5:59 PM GMT.

Note: This game is currently in development. See the FAQ to learn more about games in development, and check out the forums to find more information and to stay in touch with the community.
I like the concept, but regionally priced early access is not my thing.
I'll definitely check it out when/if it's finished.
Instabuy !

Thank you GoG.

My goodness, getting several in development games. Many are waaaaay too expensive though.

I must admit that this developer's approach to InDev appears a lot more positive to me than all previous InDev releases.

According to the FAQ, it seems to be primarily an episodic release over a reasonable period of time of an already more or less complete product along a pretty clear trajectory for the purpose of beta testing, "paying" willing beta testers with a 25% discount (+10% launch discount).

I hope the developer indeed manages to stick to its plan.
Can't say The Ball impressed me, but this looks like it could make up for the poor design of their previous game.

I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this one.
So is this a walking simulator?
What kind of game is this.
Is there a planned release date?

did you look at it at all, read anything at all?

Seeing as I'm on my phone and unable to watch any videos. No, I haven't done any research. I might tomorrow. I just thought someone here might know.

I missed the release date stuff, sorry about that. "single player exploration driven adventure with survival elements" doesn't really tell me much about the actual gameplay though. Unless I missed something obvious again.

omega64: ...
the game page has more info

I think it is a bit more than a walking simulator, but elements of that too

exploration and survival in a story-based adventure

X-com: This is from a developer's comment on steam: [...]

Thanks! I read the FAQ and saw the part where they describe about the EA releases and the sum of all of them is 7 hours indeed. Sounds a little short to me (although one can't judge a game's quality by it's lenght anyway), but i'll stick to the devs words "however some spend way longer in the game than that".

drealmer7: how long the game is, I think is what they mean

interesting concept - I like open world exploration and puzzle games, so even if this is a walking sim I think I'll enjoy it. Was an insta-buy when I discovered the game was the same price in AUD on GOG as it is in USD on Steam (ie: I just saved about $6 AUD AND get a DRM free copy to boot).
Seems interesting, would be good if could play open world after completion, like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games do.

Shall keep one eye on this one,

From watching single LP episode, it's looks like similar to The Long Dark survival adventure game, major difference being that in The Solus Project you have to survive on alien planet.

Isn't Canada also an alien planet?

Alright that makes sense.
