Am just going through Darksiders again (as I fancied some real hack and slash after the major disapointment of the overhyped Bayonetta!), and was planning on doing the second afterwards. Now I have both editions but only played the main release back when it was released. I see almost all of the reviews say that the deathfinitive edition is bugged, graphically poor, and doesn't work with controller, which is worrying. Am wondering if this has since been fixed, as the update log mentions all these. So is it worth playing that version or the original?

Don't expect anyone jumping in any time soon after dissing on Bayonetta. XD
Bayonetta overhyped comparing to mediocrity which is Darksiders?! Clap, clap, clap! Sir, you are a comedian!
I enjoyed both. Darksiders was a better hack and slash set to religious themes than Dante's Inferno.

Bayonets was rubbish. Starting with the ridiculous main character designed by a 14 year old boy, to the room by room same enemies, to the not knowing what to do half the time. I mean in the tutorial bit you have to push three enemies into iron maidens, it's never explained anywhere that's what your supposed to be doing. It also has the same issues I find with a lot of games, too many shaders, can't see what is going one most of the time, shadow warrior 2 was also ruined by this. Then there is the constant fight against the camera, move it and the program quickly moves it straight back again. The guns seemed useless, I mean they act like machine guns but barely do any damadge. Now don't get me wrong, as console ports go it's not too bad, it's not a dark souls by any means, but I just don't get all the hype unless your into really elongated women who look like there moving by wrapping theselves round a pole embedded in their bum.
Do note that played the pc. version, and only got someways in before giving up with it.

Dantes inferno was ok, preferred the god of war set.

rofl, either an excellent comedian, or massive hypocrite. Let's make something out of the window, I didn't play Bayonetta, but I did play Rvengeance, Darksiders and a little of Darksiders 2. Darksiders 1 is mediocre at best character action games, because combat lacks depth and polish of really good ones like Devil May Cry 3-4 or Revengeance. It's casual character action game, but solid action adventure because of other elements (allegedly ripped off from Zelda).

Now, as I already said, I didn't play Bayonetta, but I'll take wacky and cheerful Bayonetta, rather than grimdark Nephelim made for edgy emo-teens, any day of the week.
I don't say this too often because how standoffish the saying is, but... git gud.
Seriously though, the beauty of Bayonetta lies in the multitude of ways the game gives you to dispatch your foes, tailored to a variety of skill levels. Want to play casual? Play it like a beatemup. Want to be hardcore? Master the art of Witch Time. Want to just enjoy the story? Put it on easy or very easy mode.

Back to the question, I have both but haven't installed 2 yet, only 1. I have to use the X360ce controller program on that, but I'm thinking of trying it with a mouse because the griffin level has been rendered harder than it really is with hypersensitive cursor movement on my gamepad.

I haven't noticed any special problems in my first 3 hours of Darksiders 2 compared to 1. You don't have X360 controller?
Has the game ever been unplayable? AFAIK the only serious problem was with controller button prompts not showing which should not happen in a AAA game but you could have memorized which key corresponds to which button and play the game just fine.

And that problem was fixed quite a while ago. I didn't have any problems at all with the Deathinitive Edition.

Thanks. Will try that version.
