This has been going on for over a year now, every long download will eventually stop and if you are not observing it closely and click "retry" over and over again, the download will never complete by itself.
Are there any plans to fix this eventually?

Try using a download manager.

I use Firefox without a download manager and have no issues at all. Speeds are always high, except for a very few occasions during sales.

No issues here on Firefox or Galaxy.

Not too many issues here. I think the majority of my problems is local congestion, not GOG itself.

More than likely something to do with your ISP or something on your end. I use browser, old DLer, and Galaxy. No problems with any of them.

But I think GOG should automatically detect if there are problems with one server and switch the download over to another so all users can get decent service.

Yes, when i use firefox or chrome, there are no issues, everything goes smooth, but galaxy always fails at least once and have to click retry. Other than this issue, the galaxy downloads are just as fast as on firefox or steam, namely the max of my connection.
