I've been waiting many years for release of
Top Gun: Maverick and finally got this to watch.
Right from the start, it throws you to good old Hollywood times: real action, one-liners and no "new agenda". Tom Cruise shows his great shape in 50-something, Val Kilmer delivers a memorable performance too, even new Top Gun members fit the movie well and don't pull the blanket over themselves. In addition, there are more practical effects than CGI, so it gives you adrenaline and doesn't let go till the end. You just forget about everything and enjoy.
For me, sequel didn't surpass the original movie cause of direct copying many of its scenes and soundtrack (Lady Gaga is not suitable replacement of
"Take My Breath Away"), but it's successfully coped with main task: giving the nostalgia about almost 30 years ago when I saw Top Gun at first time.
