I do my best to buy only on GOG, but let's face it: There are titles that simply will never be made available here. So, every now and then, I browse other storefronts. Was quite surprised to find a Humble Bundle that stated "This bundle supports NARAL Pro-Choice America Foundation and National Network of Abortion Funds." Now, I do not wish to start a debate here. Just wanted to alert others who may care about this topic and to say two things:

1.) Of all the "charities" in the world, they chose these? So, personally, humblebundle.com will never get my business again.

2.) Please, GOG, as the last bastion of customer-centric game retailers/publishers, don't ever choose such a polarizing "charity" to support. Remain neutral and keep doing what you do best which is sell games that don't treat buyers like they're digital-rights criminals. Because, I'd hate to add gog.com to the list of companies that I refuse to buy from.

Humble Bundle has been terrible ever since they were acquired by IGN. Used to be awesome but that was long ago. It's current politics aren't relevant to me.

[EDIT] I remember when they used to have those awesome DRM-free Android bundles - offering tons of APKs that couldn't be found DRM-free anywhere else. How I miss those days.

Humble Bundle has always been political.
From the very beginning charity was one of the characteristic features of Humble Bundles.
There is no such thing as a non-political charity since the whole point of charity is the redistribution of wealth, which is inherently political.
They have also always supported charities with are openly devoted to a political cause, such as the EFF.
And I would regard their early opposition to DRM, which they have sadly abandoned, as a political statement.

My impression is that if anything changed in that regard, Humble Bundle has become less political and more profit-driven.
Only this time you disagree with their views.

Exactly. Usually the complaint "X has gone political" translates to "They have a political view that I don't like." ... So the complaint, curiously, usually also contains the admission that the complainer is political too. In the opposing direction.
HIB already supported some homorganizations, so it's just "another step" for them.

And they always have been on the "left" side in terms of supported charities. (not for every action, there were also those charities dedicated to less polarizing/more consensual areas),

So no surprise here as well.

Oh yes, totally agree, those were great. And all games (with some small exceptions) without any ads and micropayments.

I hear this complaint often. Why are you supporting charity x but not organisation y? Why do you support this particular charity at all, they are { input reason } ... Charity x deserves and/or needs support more that charity y.

Leaving aside for a moment Humble supporting this particular or any other charity, that's commendable. Whatever they do with parts of their revenue is ultimately up to them. I would think it would be better for them to offer a ... Pick a charity of your choice ... option. It would immediately take them out of the line of fire they are likely finding them in right now or in the future. All just because people don't like their choice - what a wonderful world ...
