It seems that they've finally managed to bypass Denuvo. The news I read stated that Mad Max has been cracked too, but I thought it had already been cracked before.

Even though I no longer play pirated games I like to know that this sort of extreme DRM is being surpassed.

Yeah, it's nice to think something 'impregnable' like the almighty Denuvo get destroyed eventually. Not nice for smaller devs who have to pay for it though.

Still wouldn't waste my time with any bypassed games, though.

I suppose that the answer is clear for the smaller devs.
Just don't invest in Denuvo and trust that enough people will pay for your games instead of pirating them.
That way you'll save money and earn the respect of customer base.
Actually there is even a third game with Denuvo that has been cracked along with the 2 you mentioned: Sherlock Holmes The Devils Daughter.

Even though I don't use pirated copies anymore (as long as there's a legal way to get them), it makes me happy to see such a killstreak against Denuvo.

As for the devs having to pay the price for it: I still think that sales don't suddenly improve because of the lack of the possibility to pirate it.
confusing myself...nvm.

Was DAI ever cracked ?

Niggles: Was DAI ever cracked ?
It was one of the first cracked Denuvo games.
Sure its not a publicity stunt? I just realized I haven't thought about this game in 4+ months and this is the first after all that time. Pretty effective.

Ironically, nowadays any existence of DRM on a singleplayer game means that I will only end up playing it if I can buy an used copy of it or it is re-released DRM-free. Even an official DRM-removal patch can only make me more interested to go find an used copy to buy for, in order for the publisher to sell me a new copy the DRM must be gone from the game without any extra steps required from me.

I have no sympathy for them; it was their choice to waste money on DRM in the first place.

I buy games here almost exclusively now & pretty much the only way I'll get a game with DRM is if it's both *really* cheap & supports Linux (but only Steam DRM is acceptable), or if it's part of a Humble Bundle or so.

UPlay, Origin, Denuvo etc. = won't even accept for free (if any are included in a bundle they get $0 and I ignore the keys)

Congratulations. Now, prepare for the next generation, even more intrusive DRM. Let's keep the escalation going guys!

Maybe that wouldn't be such a bad thing to get a malware-like DRM again to show all those hardcore-DRM-Supporters that DRM does not work in favor of the customers.

(At least that's what I think when I often read things like: "only pirates complain about DRM" in other places)

So edgy.

I'd rather just have a working DRM with a development community that gets into a habit of removing DRM a year/couple of years after release.

Let them try. They've tried before, and it backfired on them. I can't see further attempts going any better. Besides, the alternative is Denuvo eventually being used everywhere instead.

KneeTheCap: So edgy.
Just a case of my long-standing policy of fuck DRM in general + not wanting to contaminate my system with that bullshit.
