Have quests to turn in but no Kalkstein and no Abagail. In fact there is no one in the Country Inn area. I have just started game so not very deep into it. HELP PLEASE!

Nevermind, found Abagail but so far she hasn't taken quest.

They're talking about The Witcher 3 before people ask, i don't recall the quest name mind, might need to pop that in the post mate

(Abigail has a hut for herself, can't really remember where Kalkstein is normally, but he is scripted to appear at Vizima's gate for one plot point at least. If the main plot is progressed too far they both disappear as do all (iirc) the people at the Inn, but they can be found later.) First Witcher, chapter 1.

Been a while since I played Witcher 1, but I think both characters are from Chapter 2.

Edit: Actually, I may be confusing Abigail with another character. Is Abigail the Witch from the first chapter?

Yeah, she is the red haired witch from Chapter 1. Her and Kalkstein are both in the Vizima outskirts and may (or may not, since spoilers == bad) appear later in the game as well.

Abigail is in the Witch's hut just outside the first town you land on in Chapter 1 (The Witcher 1). Kalkstein I only remember from Chapter 2 onwards. If you're supposed to find him in Chapter 1, try looking in the town near the lake outside Vizima.

He appears in the inn to give you a quest you can't cash in until chapter 2.
