The problem with the Windows Store is that it functions with an mobile app mentality. You are not downloading a game that you can install however you want, but an app for Win10 that's integrated into the system.

You are aware that you can still access those, right? Does take a bit of tinkering, and not sure if it will break something further down the road, but you can access all the app's files just fine. Haven't tried modifying any of those, and hesitant to do so, but I guess a determined person could do the proper tests.
