HunchBluntley: I should hope so, as that's the point. ;P
What do you think? Is it?
Got a good one for you.

Yeah, it's a good one. : )

Also, I should remind everybody that, despite my mostly posting things in here that come from this forum, these can be from anywhere; but, as always, providing some sort of context (or access to it) -- via link, attached image, or whatever -- is heavily encouraged.
I have a bad feeling about this.
According to my source, it's impossible to jump more than 100 times.

(This is a quote from the game Super Mario RPG.)
"Sticking your junk into extradimensional holes is NOT deplomacy!" Samantha Carter SG1

Another SG1 quote

Hammond: "Colonel, the United States is not in the business of interfering in other people's affairs!"
Jack: "Since when?"

“The thing that is probably most important is having a brain.” Ben Carson
Here's one from the forum:

So everyone can judge for himself.
(The problem here is that the poster claims it applies to everyone, but then uses a pronoun that excludes half the population.)

Anyway, here is another one from a video game that works out of context, but not in context:

How are you gentlemen?
(Can someone guess what game this is from? Hint: some of the other text in the game is not exactly in what I would call good English.)

Edit: Correct quote to match original post. (This post originally had the word "think" instead of "judge".)

It might not be what you're claiming it is, depending on the nationality of the poster.
Different languages assemble sentences differently; if the OP isn't anglophone he probably imagined the sentence in his mother language, and when translating the english pronoun that closest matched the original untranslated sentence would be "him".

The rule in english where you use "they" in a context where it's knowingly talking about only one person is quite weird and specific to the english language as far as I have seen. So you can't assume people all over the world would easily catch on to it.

Anyway, this thread is supposedly about making fun of sentences that become bizarre when out of context, so let's go back to that instead, okay?

Man, you have a bizarre talent for finding this stuff. I can't contribute to the thread (other than saying the stupid phrase that can be reposted here eventually), but I'm loving it!

I'm not sure I want to know how molesting baby seals got into this conversation.
To be fair, this sentence alone and without context is 100% true.

Did you get a ticket?
"Is it when people have sex internationally?"

(Context: found in an infographic about intersex conditions and against intersex genital mutilation.)
the hell is this? xD
