That sounds promising.

I'll elaborate on my Shovel Knight suggestion. Once you beat the game as Shovel Knight (cheats allowed), or if you enter a special code, you can play as Plague Knight.

About Plague Knight:
Regular attack is bombs. Unlimited ammo, and you can get upgrades that allow you to customize your bombs.
If you charge up, you can do a bomb burst. This creates an explosion that sends you flying at high speed. Again, you have different burst options, but all of them send you flying.
One of the Arcana you can get (and one you get early) creates a big explosion when you hit. Arcana uses up a magic meter that recharges pretty quickly.

I actually find Plague Knight to be more fun to play as than Shovel Knight.

Good sir, I believe you are referring to Tower of Guns. You don't start with it, but eventually, you can unlock a rocket launcher as your default weapon. You can also have a shotgun which shoots pellets that turn into mines which then explode into smaller explosions.
