Took forever for the first Tomb Raider reboot to get here, but can't argue with the launch prices!
Finally it is here. I did notice it did not have a linux version, but the game does have a linux version on steam. I had hoped they would release the linux version on gog...
So anniversary is a remake of the first tomb raider game as in not needed to play the first one?

The developer of the Linux version (Feral Interactive) is very pro DRM so you will not find any of there Linux builds here unfortunately.

However many have reported that there build of Tomb Raider GOTY is not well optimized and have had better luck running the Windows version under WINE and Proton. I can confirm this as I have the game on Steam and whenever I entered an open area when I played the framerate tanked.

Pretty much

There's a tongue in cheek reference to playing before, thats about it.

Anniversary has all the feel of the original game, but with late 00's graphics. Going through her home is great too.

Oh, that makes sense. Wine is definetely something I use for most windows games so it shouldn't be a problem with tomb raider, I was just suprised by the fact that they did not release the linux version on gog, but now it makes sense, so thank you for the explanation.

BookCrazy: I would love to see some of Square Enix's other games on GOG. They have some great games! :)
Let's be real here, what we have from "Square Enix" are mostly EIDOS games and a couple a recent non-Japanese games. You're never gonna see a Final Fantasy game here, Japanese keep their IPs close to their heart, most of them don't want DRM-Free games. For Square Enix, what they allow to be publish here is what most Japanese companies consider to be "Western Trash" (their term, not mine), so they don't really care about these.

I hope that Tomb Raider GOTY will be available on Gog Connect

It won't be.

And if hell happens to freeze over, you can tell me I was wrong.
Nice to see new older TR titles arrive to GOG, but yeah it appears Underworld exclusives retain their Xbox exclusivity.

Yep, this is it. Quite repetitive to always see "why aren't Japanese games on here" questions. Wears you down after a while. Never going to happen without GOG significantly increasing its market share or they establish its own bizdev team in East Asia.

Sorry, but I don't think any more games will be available on GOG Connect:

GOG could be bigger than Steam and it wouldn't matter to Japanese publishers if they can't protect their IPs from those nasty, nasty software pirates with some sort of DRM.
Just seen a great tweet from someone thinking SE releasing these Tomb Raider games on GoG is pandering to Newcomers to the series.

Oh well, one can at least dream. Just a question, is the Just Cause series considered western trash?
