My Kaspersky VS is finding malicious files every time I try to update the gog launcher. Is this a false positive?

It's actually fairly well regarded as far as non-free AVs go.

On the contrary, it's one of the best. I'm considering switching to it from my free Avast, which is slowly turning into a malware itself...

Kaspersky has always been known for false positives; it's kind of a feature, not a bug. I used it at the office for a few years and liked it better than the other usual suspects (Norton, Trend Micro).

I would say that false positives are better than false negatives in anti-virus programs.

Stupid pop ups every ten minutes... I kinda like the new browser though (which, I will note, was installed without asking permission).
