Is there a way for me to mark or denote games that I may not own on GOG, but own on other sites? I don't see an obvious way to do this, and can add it to the community wishlist, but wanted to make sure I'm not missing something first. For instance, I saw FEAR Platinum was on sale. I suspected I already owned this, and verified that I have it elsewhere. So, I'd like a way to mark FEAR Platinum on GOG so that I know I have it, even if not on GOG.

There is no current way to do so. Vote for it here.

Ah, didn't see that wish. Thanks!
I'd almost prefer you could mark it and specify where you owned it, so if you see a game and say 'hey i feel like playing that' and you see 'Oh i have it on Humble Bundle!' then it's a short hop to get the game to play (assuming you haven't already downloaded it).

Of course if you have a preferred game site you want to play from, you'll probably end up buying it again anyways at some point.
The same feature is needed on other stores too, like Steam, Origin, GamersGate, HumbleStore etc. I mean, what if you accidentally buy something on Steam that you already have on GoG? That would be just awful.
It can be done with help of java script.
But you will have to make that script yourself!!! :P

Not necessarily.

P.S. It goes without saying that you can already do what the OP asks for via MaGog.
