A couple of weeks ago, I stumbled across the Twitter of an interesting new RTS game.

Its very much in the vein of Dune 2000 and other Westwood games.

Given Petroglyph have temporarily abandoned us, this has definitely got me excited.

For a small indie team the quality of their designs are amazing.

Oh my god, it's such a Dune 200 clone :D

Just look at that glorious 90s-style interface.

That video ends with 'Follow us on mars2000.com'. I was curious enough to visit... and found a domain parking page.

With a banner saying the domain is up for sale.

The name of the game also has issues. I went looking for any Let's Play on Youtube and got Mission to Mars movie that came out in 2000, old videos ripped from the NASA website about their once planned trip to Mars also called 'Mars 2000', Revenge From Mars which is an old pinball game with the ID # 2000, etc.

Yes, it;s a nitpick but with SEO today, you would think someone would of taken 2 seconds to google the name of a game before selecting it.

I think a part of the name comes from its origins of a Dune 2000 remake, with a story shoe-horned to fit the name.

The stuff on their twitter feed looks rather different and less like Dune.

I hope they keep a similar interface though. Some modern RTS games are just too complicated.
Not much to make of it, all the images seem to be concept art or renders.
