The community has been good to me the past month and I want to give back a bit. For now I have a copy of Master of Orion 1+2 up for grabs. GOG has given away the 2016 remake in the last Winter sale, but the originals still remain very valid and enjoyable even today. Lots of people still consider them the best 4x ever made, and if you have any interest in turn-based strategy you will probably do well to give them a try.

Anyone can enter, no rep or join date requirements, but please:

- Do not enter if you're not planning to play them in the near future. It's fine if you can't get to them immediately, but don't let them rot in your backlog.
- If you win, give MoO1 a chance! I ignored it for a long time because I was turned off by the - honestly - horrible graphics, but once I got past that it became my favourite MoO. It requires way less micromanagement than MoO2 and I find that the gameplay just "flows" better.


The winner will be chosen randomly in a few days (sometime around the weekend). If for some reasons you want to stay anonymous that's fine, just remember to tell me when I send you the key.

Not in, but thanks! Always +1 for promoting classics :) I play today many old games for the first time ever and very often I find them much more enjoyable then newer titles.

Not in, but +1 for MoO1. I played the original when it came out and loved it to death. Sunk hundreds of hours into it. When MoO2 came out I was so excited, but maybe played through one game and never touched it again. It just never "felt" the same as the original.

MoO2 is a lot better with the new fan patch or mod. Without fan patches I would be done with the game. The first is still my favourite though.

Not in, I have a physical copy I've been meaning to talk to GOG about, but +1. And I also recommend trying out MoO1, I think 2 is better, but there's definitely a ton of fun to be had with the first one.

Not in. Like Themken, these were one of my first purchases on GOG. I will simply echo others here that MoO1 is not to be missed. I still find it the best of the series and IMHO the best 4X to date.

Not in. Would like to be, but I have GalCiv2 and Endless Space on my steam account over a year and haven't even started them. So I don't think that I will have time to play MOO in the near futrue.
