I have a Cherry MX-Board 3.0 with cherry brown switches. It's also available with red, blue and maybe black switches. I preferred brown switches, because like the blues they are tactile and good for typing, but with a less noisy click. Also they are easier to press.

Pro
- paid 70€ here in germany, so not really expansive for a mechanical keyboard
- clean and compact design
- removable usb micro (or mini?) cable.
- thanks to a key combination you can disable the window keys (good for gaming)
- fine build quality

Con
- half-size caps, which means not easily changeable if you want to mod your keyboard). I like them though.
- some caps are not easy detachable because of integrated leds (num-key, win-keys, caps-lock)
- no extra stuff like backlight or usb-hub

They don't get any more mechanical than this.

I got this with blacks. My favourite computer related purchase, very close to the SSD drive.

I picked this model because it doesn't have shiny whatevers and doesn't look like a spaceship.

If you want blues, you'll probably have to pay more.

If it's of any use to you, I'd like to get in the future (along with previously mentioned Unicom) a custom made from . But since it'll probably cost more importing it than the actual keyboard and will probably settle for blues, [url=http://www.daskeyboard.com/daskeyboard-4-ultimate/]this will most probably be my next keyboard.

As you can see, they seem to be priced a tad higher.
I have a IBM TKL Model M from 19xx. I built a little adapter from the TMK keyboard project and an Arduino Nano so I can use it as a USB keyboard. It will live on! Probably longer than me!

However, not so good for gaming (no n-key rollover). I also got a Matias QuietPro (for Mac). I really love this thing. It had a lighter touch than I originally wanted but I have really grown into this. It's also super useful for when I do support calls, since I don't drown out the person I'm talking with by my typing.

I would suggest you get a cheap Cherry MX switch tester on eBay. I got one for $8 or so... that will give you a much better idea what kind of resistance, activation feel and bottom-out experience you are looking for.
I have a Razer Chroma Black Widow (words may need to be in a different order). It's a fine piece of engineering, chunky metal body, really strong nicely made keys, and it makes an entertaining clicking sound as you type, sounds like an old type writer. I'd recommend you avoid it like the plague. As wonderfully designed and engineered as it is, you need to install their driver pack, which pops up a window every time you boot your computer, demands updating every 2 days, and is possibly the most intrusive piece of software I've encountered that isn't malware.

Shame, it's a nice solid piece of kit, and looks good. Helped me no end with the wingsuit challenges in Just Cause 3.
