Is this coming to GOG with multiplayer DRM tied into it, or will it be truly DRM free experience, multiplayer and single player?

IE: I buy, install to two seperate machines off internet network, same version #, both can play in a LAN lobby on non internet connected lan?

The version sold on the Epic store doesn't have LAN multiplayer (at least from what I can tell), and I don't expect that to change with the GOG /Steam release.

It's the only true multiplayer. While the protocol might change, layers can be done for it. (See: IPX/SPX games still are playable with a tunneler.)

If the single player of MW5 is 100% DRM-free, I'll still get it because MW's not a game I ever found joy in MP.

I always find it interesting that early sci-fi authors etc thought that giant walking robots would be the military weapon of the future, when it turned out it's almost the opposite (weapons becoming smaller). The wheel (ie, the tank) still proves to be the best.

I do wish more video game companies supported Dedicated Servers and A Server Browser List and make the multiplayer 100% Digital Rights Management (DRM) free without needing to log in a email account or type in CD Keys, like Unreal Tournament, Red Faction, and Unreal Tournament 2004.

Those are the only three video games sold on gog.com that I know from the top of my head that have 100% Digital Rights Management (DRM) free multiplayer.

Maybe the first Unreal as well with the multiplayer patch made by PC modders who got rid of GameSpy for the first Unreal.

Agreed. To your original point, I also wondered why certain futurists thought giant walking robots would be the weapons of the future. Besides the fact that so many more things that can go wrong with bi-pedal locomotion machinery than wheels, I always figured they could've been easily attacked from the sky or space.

A giant armed robot is expensive, is a big target, and it's maneuverability is debatable. But if you can offset this with some sort of sophisticated defence mechanism, its drawbacks become moot and is a completely viable weapon platform. More so because it can autonomously lug around big kill-ya-dead armaments. If you could build it smaller and with more static ground points (more legs or wheels, tracks) it would be even better. If it could fly, the best. But again, the defensive factor is the key. Defeat that and once again small and mobile/airborne gains the advantage.

I dont know, it just doesn't sit well with me a product being sold that has implemented DRM when the selling platform proclaims it DOES NOT sell DRM tied products. Kinda a major let down if it does.

they didnt , just walking Huge robots are cool , same with space fighters , no way those will be ever used in the future , still they are cool , if you think about it most games are bs just cool

guess what all those centralized server using games have true mp as multiple players can game together with them

GOG have never counted multiplayer as part of that, right or wrong.

even that i really like Mech warriors and the mechs (STK) my favorite mech altough i also really like Nightstar
it will never be a future thing that people will ever use in a real world war/skirmishes

only scenario i can think of they can use mechs should be on alien worlds with environments absolute hostile to humans.
