Can't stress enough how good Hollow Knight is if you never played it. If you are a fan of Metroidvanias, you will most likely enjoy it.
Difficult but fair boss fights, lots of map exploration with many secrets, many endings, bonus challenging content for those who want that extra push to get better and have more fun with the combat.. Cool lore and story... It has everything a good Metroidvania should have in my opinion.

Dead Cells really isn't a metriodvania in the usual sense. Specifically:
* The game consists of separate levels, called "biomes". While each individual biome may be somewhat nonlinear (and yo get an automap), once you leave a biome, there's on way back (other than starting over). In a way, this feels a bit like Vampire Killer (the MSX game that has a lot of similarities to the original Castlevania, but is different enough to be its own game).
* There are, however, multiple paths through the game. Some aren't possible until you get certain things that carry over into future runs. (Feels a bit like Castlevania 3 here.)
* The roguelike aspects are more prominent than in many other roguelites. Item placement is randomized (though there's a custom mode you can unlock which allows you to limit which items appear, so you can remove items you don't like from the pool), and there's a permadeath mechanic (can be disabled through assist mode), along with some meta-progression.
* One successful run typically takes an hour (which, IMO, is twice what my preferred length would be for this type of game, but significantly shorter than a "proper" metroidvania).

Wanted to ask if there was some gameplay reason why Salt and Sanctuary was not on the list, only to discover that this amazing metroidvania mixed with some soulike elements that i completed 3 times since it was free on epic a few years ago ... is not available on gog ?
I could have sworn it was on gog, odd how memory can work sometime :D

Other good deals:
ITORAH -90%
https://www.gog.com/en/game/itorah
Sundered -85%
https://www.gog.com/en/game/sundered
Nocturnal -80%

9 Years of Shadows -60%

GRIME -45%

#######
Recommending Sundered, 9 Years of Shadows and GRIME here.
To me, GRIME is on par with Hollow Knight, albeit being way more focused on difficulty challenge.
It is as if GRIME was an older brother to Hollow Knight. More mature, with more focused view, less backtracking and harder.
Way harder. specially on New Game+.
Can't recommend GRIME enough too!
Sundered also surprised me with its mechanics and fluidity of movement. Fast paced action combat which makes you despair if you don't understand how to deal with the swarms of enemies the game throws at you. Boss fights are amazing, specially the secret boss for the true ending! One of the hardest "Roguelite Metroidvanias" too. Its quite grindy on higher difficulties though. Still fun!

dtgreene: Hollow Knight, annoyingly, does not give the player control over saving. In particular, the game will forcibly save when you die. (That's the one aspect of games referred to as "soulslike" that I dislike.) That's fair.
In my opinion that helps to set the mood and forces the player to understand that his failures will be punished and thus, players will need to adapt fast if they want to survive.
Yup, Dead Cells is far from a Metroidvania in my opinion too.
It is what we could call a Roguelite Soulsvania in my view, as said on the first post.
Yeah... it's not here, unfortunately.
You can vote on its Wishlist though, together with its "sequel" and some other two I also recommend on this thread:
