Very impressive if they can pull it off.

InSaintMonoxide: Very impressive if they can pull it off.
I believe Unreal Engine will help with that...It was very difficult to find developers and then have them learn how to use their own engine. Plus If I remember correctly Epic said that they will be working closely with CDPR to help them with the new witcher game.
avatar
tfishell: Maybe they'll be able to avoid engine troubles by switching to Unreal 5.

My only interest/hope is that these are very well-received on release / continue to rebuild CDPR's reputation and help bring more AAA games here.
Yeah, I think it's way too early to really care about any of these projects, but the fact they're planning big releases that far out, assuming they are at all reasonable with their projections, gives me hope for the longevity of Gog itself at the very least.

Grargar: "3 Witcher games in the span of 6 years"

Bold statement. Very bold statement.
It's 6 years since Witcher 4 (whatever it will be called) not from now. Still bold but they have much more people than ever now and transition to UE might only help considering how much issues with engine they always had.
So let's even say new game in 2 years is possible but what quality can it be? Assassin's Creed started copying Witcher 3 at one point so now CDPR wants copy AC release schedule?

In the span of six years after the first one is released, could take 10 years to release the first one.

.Ra: cyberpunk is a failure and the witcher is being milked.
avatar
Mugiwarah: Why a failure? the game is great, the only failure was to release it on old gen console but the PC version is fine and the PS5/XBox series seems to like it too.
Can someone here say how the xbone/ps4 versions are running nowadays? Last time I checked it was messy as hell.

Let me put it this way: CDPR has developed 4 large-scale games in the span of 17 years. They are not exactly known for releasing games swiftly.

The really important news is that CDPR is working on a game in the underserved canal sim genre.

Apparently it's better but honestly if you want to play it, take it on PC or on PS5/XBox series to enjoy it
TOTAL FACEPALM

Witcher 3 ended on such a good note.

Why does CD PROJECT RED have to milk the franchise like greedy, shameless American game developers?

They will definitely mess it up with the main character being woke, half-black, non-binary, gender fluid, Trump hating strong independent woman.

Well they released each Witcher with a four years gap between each of them, so releasing them with a three years gap doesn't seem so unrealistic, especially if they uses an existing mature engine instead of creating their own from scratch like they did for Witcher 2.
CD PROJEKT Group Strategy Update: Long-term Product Outlook [EN/PL]
(haven't seen it myself yet, just read about it)

In short:

Witcher universe:
Sirius: multiplayer game
Polaris: Witcher Trilogy
Canis Majoris: open world rpg unrelated to the existing games

Sirius is being developed by a new studio in Boston which together with their Vancouver studio forms CD Projekt Red North America.
Polaris is probably related to the a new sage begins teaser from earlier this year.
I'm wondering what unrelated to existing games means and how that relates to Polaris.

Cyberpunk 2077 universe:
Except for a new expansion and Orion, a new game in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe, they're looking at more alternative projects in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe like Edge Runners.

Hadar has been in development since 2021.

Ice_Mage: Let's also attach the roadmap image here. That's all the tweet was.
avatar
WinterSnowfall: Well that solves the mystery of Sirius... all I can say is that it's being worked on heavily and appears to be an UE4 title, but then again it might be a prototype at the moment and they may switch to UE5 in the future.
Taking this into account the 3rd party studio working on "Canis Majoris" (which if I remember correctly also has left traces in the database?) actually could be this one.
They're claiming to work on their "own AAA IP, dark fantasy RPG - the first title of a planned saga", but it could be a ruse just as well.

Not something I ever stumbled upon for sure, though SCPM may have sniffed something... can't recall.

There's still an odd entry called "Alibaba" though, which remains a mystery.

Whatever happened to the Witcher 3 upgrade?
That still a thing or was it silently axed?
