tinyE: I can't believe they left out this guy:

Oddeus: Oh God, what is he doing with that droid?
I'm not sure, but if he's not careful he's going to need to go into the Wasteland to find a new one.

Maighstir: I've no idea, as I don't follow it very closely at all. Has Jar-Jar been mentioned anywhere?
Actually Jar Jar Binks made it into the Alien franchise. Watch the "lander scene" in Alien Covenant and imagine Jar Jar instead of the pilot girl.

Yeah, he directed Prometheus.

As long as they used contraception they should be fine.

dtgreene: My favorite Star Wars character actually used to be Jar Jar Binks, until Episode 7 came out, at which point Rey became my favorite SW character.
Rey and Jar Jar Binks similarity confirmed. ;)

PoppyAppletree: The First Order is actually analogous to the Imperial Remnant from the old EU, but done better. I like that the conflict in the new canon has a longer timescale to resolve the fall of the Empire, since it felt a bit forced in the old canon. By this point in the old canon the New Republic was well under way with only a small fragment of the Empire remaining by the time of the Yuuzhan Vong invasion.
Are you sure about the first statement? To me it looks like the First Order much more resemble Yuuzhan Vong forces - the same time period; both being outside force, rather produced by inner intrigues; even similar ideology. And of course the invasion itself in both cases happened at incredible speed. First Order basically destroyed New Republic over the course of the Episode 7 with their Dark Star Mk3.
Only non-movie stuff I ever did was the original Thrawn trilogy of books, which I loved at the time. Was really bummed they didn't incorporate any of that into the new movies. I hear Thrawn is in the cartoon but I don't watch those. Maybe someday they'll put him in the movies.
Yeah the prequels are terrible. They also brought some shit in that I really did not like. Like that shitty ass lightsaber form garbage.

The YT-2400 didn't get the axe so I'm satisfied.

Actually, they did. In the end of the first book good guys ram one of bad guys cruiser with their own. Like in TLJ. Of course in the book the whole situation during the battle (small distance between ships, bad guys distracted by another group, etc) allowes such maneuver (unlike the movie, where nothing is explained and essentially possible only because Crux stupidity).
