StingingVelvet: How survival focused is this game now? I've always ignored it because I don't like survival games, but if you can play it more as an open world FPS then maybe I'll finally give it a go.
Hello, do not take my full review about the game and anyone can feel free to correct me. So, I only played it before this large update came out of desolation and all of the future update. If you are looking for an FPS to shoot and explore, I mean it could work like that, but it would most likely get boring. In the game, to progress and level everything about your character, weapons, and flying ships, it requires you to collect resources. What I meant by FPS is that, while you could shoot enemies, it is not really engaging for me and it feels more focused on the aspect of exploring and acquiring materials to get better ships for combat, but I feel like ships are there mostly for storage and exploration. The survival part of the game really takes over the FPS, since you are encouraged to build bases, farms to get materials, and upgrade to tools to get other material. This is my opinion of how survival focused the game is. I never really found myself combating loads of enemies, but I found myself looking for resources, building a base to make a automation to get more of that material needed. For me, if I would just get it to play it as a shooter, I would not recommend the game, because it mainly focuses on traveling and making your tools more powerful, so the building survival and exploring aspect are the main idea of the game. Hope that helps. However, do not take my words all in, because this is how I see the game and play it, so yeah.
