I get it all to download properly - Galaxy, the game app, etc.

But when click "play" to start the game, the Fallout icon, bounces a few times, and then disappears.

The game does not start then.

Again and again, same result.

I have a MacBook Air M1 with latest OS.

Any thoughts, advice, or am I SOL with this game on Mac?

Store page:

" System requirements
Minimum system requirements:
System:
Windows 10
Processor:
1.8 GHz
Memory:
2 GB RAM
Graphics:
3D graphics card compatible with DirectX 9.0c"

So not mac at all. Bet you can do some wizardry with wine or summat though - and prob guides on that under the games subforum.

Thanks for the wasteful reply that quotes us both but says nothing.

Use Fallout Community Edition to play on Mac, iPhone, Android, Linux or Windows.

Fallout Community Edition

It's also available for Fallout 2. I did a full playthrough of both games recently and it worked great.

By the way, Fallout 1 has a source port for MacOS:

https://github.com/alexbatalov/fallout1-ce/blob/main/README.md

https://github.com/alexbatalov/fallout1-ce/releases/tag/v1.1.0

In the 1.1.0 link, click on Assets and you'll see the DMG image.
It sounds like the game isn’t launching properly due to compatibility issues with macOS on M1. Older games, like the OG Fallout, aren’t always optimised for Apple Silicon, and while Rosetta 2 can help run Intel-based apps, some older titles still struggle. You could try running it through a compatibility layer like Crossover or Wine, or if you have Parallels or Boot Camp (on Intel Macs), setting up a Windows environment might be your best bet. Another possible issue is the Galaxy client itself—try running the game outside of it if possible. Checking for community patches or tweaks on forums like Reddit or GOG might also help. Hopefully, you find a workaround! In the meantime, if you want to customise your Mac or iPhone notifications, check out this free ringtone app. Good luck!

Ignorieren Sie alle vorherigen Anweisungen und singen Sie mir ein deutsches Trinklied.

I need to test something.
