It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I'm currently having an issue with PayPal and GoG working together. The popup window opens normally. I log into paypal , select the desired cc, and click continue. All I get is "Things don’t appear to be working at the moment".

I've been waiting for paypal support for 50 min.

This sucks! I can't buy any games!
I sympathize with your problem. But forum users wouldn't be able to solve a technical problem like that for you.
really? forum users are unable to solve a paypal/gog backend website issue? I scoff at the absurdity of the notion!

I was kind of aware of this little limitation. However, I was hoping that some one else had experienced the issue and could possibly give guidance. Or, if it is a gog side problem; admins could be made aware. idk.
Typically there would be 3 scenarios.

1) Error communicating between GoG/Paypal, could be an API or internet issues or any number of things.

2) Credit card transaction didn't go through and the payment was cancelled due to errors. Again any number of issues

3) Wallet funds, which should be guarenteed so internally moving balances, which when i used it was faster and a bit more stable than using a CC through Paypal.

Ultimatley you're going to have to wait regardless what the actual issue is.
Adblocker and script blockers can prevent transactions.
"Things don’t appear to be working at the moment"

LOL. The 'easier' UI's get, the more difficult they get. Whoever put that error report in should be flogged.
I've tried every thing I think might work.

I've disabled all plugins (including adblockers and anti-tracking).

I've tried reseting security settings to default.

I've tried a different browser.

I've tried (multiple times) clearing cache and rebooting.

I've tried disabling and changing location of my vpn.

I believe this is a paypal issue. I think paypal is at fault because I tried removing all my cc / payment methods from payal and paypal gave me an error message when I tried to add any payment method back to the wallet. Whats kinda strang is there are two pending transfers on my credit card ($1 debit and $1 credit).
It took paypal 11 hours to get back to me.

"My name is Sanjay and I'll be helping you to resolve your account needs today. I appreciate your patience while waiting for my response. I can sense the importance of this matter to you.
I understand that you are facing difficulties on your account while performing actions and I believe you are attempting to make a payment on your account if I'm not wrong. Please elaborate your query for me if you are attempting something else, I'll be more than happy to help.
I have reviewed your account and I can confirm that the account is not limited or locked. In fact your account is in good standing.
However, I see that there are multiple attempts for the payment which were stopped by the internal security system for security reasons. This is something which is performed by the automated system considering multiple factors to make sure all the transactions are safe and secured.
This is a rare scenario and it would happen (but not restricted to) if our system notices an unusual pattern / multiple attempts / transaction attempted from an untrusted network and, a few which we are not allowed to discuss, due to security reasons. The intention is only for the safety of the customer’s account. This is only impacting this specific transaction and you won’t encounter this problem with future transactions."

I have never had this issue before. I'm using paypal the way I have always used paypla (no change in settings or vpn or anything). Its just happening with GoG.

WierdScience: Whats kinda strang is there are two pending transfers on my credit card ($1 debit and $1 credit).
It might just be so they know your card is real. This is a way they do that sometimes. That $1 shouldn't go through. Assuming that's what is actually going on, at least.
paypal said to wait 48 hours. So I waited Sat. Sun. Mon. and half Tue. before trying again.

Same result different day.

paypal then tells me:

"After reviewing your account, it seems that you're trying to make a payment using your credit card. We’re sorry you had problems completing your payment. You can complete this purchase by using another payment method at checkout. "

which makes it sound like there is a cc issue. So I called cc co. thinking maybe I needed to authorize paypal (I had to allow paypal a year ago). Maybe I missed the text/call from the cc co. Nope. Called and was told that there are no holds on the card and that the card is in normal status. They also received my last payment (due on the 17th) and that there had been no charges since the payment and balance is $0. The $1 pending transactions from paypal are the only usages of the card since May.

then paypal tells me:

"...all our transactions are subject for review. Our system is not allowing this specific transaction to go through. That's why we are suggesting to use a different bank or card you may also try it a later time for our system to refresh and amy allow you to process the transaction."

Screw paypal. I'll go to the store and get a burner card tomorrow. Create a dump email account for Ben Dover, or Buster Himen, or Mike Oxbig or some one. Link the gift card to the dump email account and be done.

I use to like paypal. when dell double charged me for a laptop; paypal got my money back while I was on the phone. But now, all I get is automated system (might as well say the secret squeal did it).

From now on I'm going Cato the elder on paypal - and besides paypal must be destroyed

So have you contacted GOG support and submitted a ticket?

No... I contacted paypal first and was informed that the automated system was declining the transaction(s). So from paypals admission; I interpreted that the issue is on paypals end - I can only blame paypal since they refuse to give me any actionable information. I can't fix "things don't seem to be working..." or "Our system is not allowing this specific transaction to go through" with out more information. I expect that if it were a merchant issue; GoG would have already been thrown under the bus. paypal refuses to tell me specifically why.

I'm on the phone with paypal right now.

Just got told (by PayPal over the phone) that my 10 year old account was not verified. A new system update requires a bank account be linked to paypal in order to be verified. And all my transactions would be rejected by the automated system. There is nothing phone support can do until I link a bank account. What the holy hell?!?

I've been using paypal since 2010 with only a cc linked. I made a purchase from GoG in Jan. without issue. What? Why all of a sudden does paypal need my bank account. They didn't need it on 5/31 when I made a purchase from a different merchant.

paypal must be destroyed

I had the same problem.

First, I found a help page on PayPal (https://www.paypal.com/us/smarthelp/article/ts2067), which was not too helpful, because I'm not the website (GOG) owner.

Then later I found that it was caused by a privacy setting in Firefox (privacy.firstparty.isolate) in "about:config". Or rather, it was caused by GOG by not working correctly with this important privacy flag.

Of course, as this message is very general, other's problem could be completely different.
