darthspudius: Kathleen Kennedy probably did it to make way for some new bit of stuff. He was a cool bloke. Will be missed.
Emob78: Well, Star Wars has been symbolically dying for years. Now it's dying quite literally. Don't worry, there's a legion of fresh faced (and incredibly bland) young actors ready to take the old timers' places.
RIP, Chewie. They should have let you go out fighting that planet with your bare hands.
As for bland: You nailed it. Luckily for us we have alot of rabid fans who do much better impersonations to fill their places.
Crosmando: Anyone find it weird how droids in SW are fully sentient beings yet seem to be basically slaves (regardless of whether they're in the Empire or Republic/Rebellion).
I remember in the KOTOR games(and elsewhere) that they basically have it as canon that their memory cores must be wiped every so often to PREVENT them from becoming too individualistic/independent. Poor droids.
DROID LIVES MATTER! *Robrofist* Lucumo: Shouldn't OP explain who the person is rather than just write "XY died"?
Agreed, but it's not too hard to google if you don't know the person personally you know. ;)
