Yo I asked the developer on asking for a release of the game and this is his response
Probably not, they declined to publish us back in the day (although to be fair we had sent them a pre-release version), and now it would be just too much of a pain to maintain two builds for the little market share they have.
Whats the deal with GOG rejecting the game? what rules has been broken to not have their game to be released here

At the time of their request GOG did not have the In Development Program.

so at the time GOG would have turned them down.

LOL, it's not like GOG's market share would've been bigger back then.

That would make sense.

*just too much of a pain to maintain two builds*:

That translates to laziness to my ears, there are small indie devs that are able to push out builds on 3 different sites: GOG, Steam and Humble.

Yes, that's what it translates to to me also. Which is fine, they can keep it.
Maybe they hardcoded all of the Steamworks API hooks and can't be bothered re-engineering a portable version :/

What a shame, man. I'd love to see this game on the Humble Store at the very least. Being a Steam exclusive puts it much lower on my priority list than it deserves to be.
That's a surprising response, the game is doing OK on Steam but not great.
Instead its Factorio that has become the masses' chosen strategy game to play in 2016.
There are also not that many streamers playing it. So you'd think they'd be more open to GOG.
By the sounds of it they seem a bit salty after GOG turned them down.

Its unfortunate, I would love to play this game but Steam is not an option anymore.

I completely agree. It is a lame response from a one-game developer. I'm not saying one-game developers or indie developers are lame, but if Madruga Works wanted to compete or guarantee its success, it would want to reach as many gamers as possible and would want to publish on as many sites as feasible.

I'm guessing there are other reasons for not using Gog.
I think you guys would suggest posting at this topic and show them your support for a GOG release
