I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess somebody redeemed a Cyberpunk code from a shady grey site - one that was probably bought on a stolen card id.

Edit: and now ive read comment six i see im correct on the first half.

DrDoomsday112: I bought it from g2a, but it let me redeem the code just fine and install the game. Yes, i first found out that i couldn't login from gog galaxy. I know, but i wasn't sent any password resets unless i tried it myself. Now it doesn't even let me try to change the password it just says"user not found". They might have changed the a-mail tied to it.
Right.

This reminds me of a friend of mine who called the Microsoft support because his Windows 10 license would not activate on his new PC.

The support person answered: "You seem to have a student license, so no you cannot transfer that to another PC.".

Naturally that friend of mine had bought the Windows 10 license from some Chinese key seller site for peanuts. Oh well, that's what he got for buying a grey license.

Third-party key stores are like a box of chocolates: they make you quote an old movie with Tom Hanks in the lead role.

I get to be a grammar nazi! (ecpesialy with my own horendous, sprelling and punktuation....)

The title "Please, help admins!" means you want us to help the admins. What you needed was "Please help, admins!" . Booooyahhhhh

DrDoomsday112: Can an admin please help me. I am desperate. I tried to login to my account and it wouldn't work. I tried changing my password several times, to no avail. I tried logging in through Facebook, everything. But i cannot login even though i know i used the correct password. My birthday is 21st,04,1994. I am the owner of the account and i can prove it. Can someone please help me, as i just bought cyberpunk and would like to play it already. I am super upset as i could login just fine before and i made this dummy account to see if it was something on your part and it wasn't. Please for the love of god, can an admin please help me. I have contacted support but i can't get an answer. I understand you are all busy, but my fix is easy. I think my account was hacked and i can secure it if someone were to please help!
My support ticket numbers are:#942875 #937597

Don't stop shooting, girls!
Don't stop, shooting girls!
Don't, stop shooting girls!

Ah, the difference the placement of punctuation can make. :)

An unintended blunder, to be sure, but a welcome one. It certainly feels like help is needed.

One would assume more important issues would/should get bumped up the queue, though.

(also old GOG would've likely said "we're sorry for the problems you're having, we will see what we can do" and sent the user's info to support to help out...I miss old GOG)

I remember Judas would actually talk to us and have fun but nowadays that does not seem to be the case.

I edited the post to be less confrontational

Him and Enigmatic T.....both were pretty good.

Now the mods mainly seem to just give mostly form replies, and rarely.
(this is likely due to the company wanting to avoid social media outrage and bad pr in general.....over the last several years staffers staff replies haven been getting rarer and more form letter like)

I have not really been on the forum since like 2016 and mostly been back the past few weeks because I was curious what the GOG community thought of the recent controversies (mostly Cyberpunk but Devotion also). Honestly, I do actually like having conversations here, but apparently depending on the day necroing a thread is wrong and I just looked at the forum rules for a good few minutes asking myself, "Did they even have these up when I was more active?"

Necroing and offtopic as reasons for posts and such being modded seem to be more "pet peeves" of the current mods....sometimes they mod for such, and others they don't.

(all while more serious things could be modded, but don't get modded, and all in plain sight in recent threads)

As for the rules: I wasn't here then either, but apparently GOG got some social media bad pr(and some new users caused problems on the forums back then, I hear) so they reigned in the forums quite a bit.

The necroing thing mostly bothers me since it's more efficient and sometimes perfectly desirable to just find the older topic and use that instead of loading the forum with the same topics again and again. I can see why being off topic is annoying but getting modded over it feels like we're on a comments section for the store more than a forum. And, I have also noticed their inconsistencies in applying their moderation.

I see that, you seem to see that.....but staff seems to think "it's better to make more and more new threads for the same issues".

Plus many conversations drift a bit over time, as that is how people naturally discuss things.
(edit: what I mean[in part] is that normally people don't talk to someone in one thread, before going to another thread if they want to talk about a side topic that isn't covered by the first thread)

To me, offtopic is fine if its rare and people stay on the topic for the most part.
