drxenija: Censorship on GOG? Is this a thing? Any evidence of this than the generalization anyone?
GameRager: That user might've been a bit hyperbolic, but it does happen here.....several threads get locked with no reason or flimsy reasons given, certain speech is forbidden for various vague and/or possibly arbitrary reasons by the site rules, posts get edited or deleted....etc.
But GOG's forum/GOG's rules, so their choice to make.
================================
I think most of the push-back you are referring to is just people looking to avoid "discussions" between people who hold mutually exclusive opinions, which always end in flame. This site is for games, not a proxy for political, religious or even gender discussions. People come here for gaming, not to play rhetorical games for political points. A lot of your posts, as well meaning as you might be, are seen as a platform for others to make mischief, hence their unpopularity and your frequent "unexplained" locking of the conversations you start.
scientiae: Who reads posts from last week, last month or last year?
GameRager: Sometimes I do.......not usually to reply, though....just to read them for fun, most times.
Although yeah, any non-major(like releases/etc) thread that hasn't been posted to in over a year should probably be moved to an the archives.
Ever since Google became a force for advertizing, rather than fact-finding, they have edited their algorithm to make searching deliver predicable (bankable) results. This has crippled the search function. I prefer
DuckDuckGo,* but sometimes even I must provide the Great Satan with an update to their shadow profile of my online activity (by using their search engine, directly).
