When the snows fall, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives.

Frostpunk is now available for pre-order, only on GOG.com. Owners of This War of Mine get 10% off.
The planet has grown cold and humanity is suffering much the same fate. As the ruler of a city where the survivors are staying alive thanks to steampunk technology, you must make the harsh decisions that will ensure your society will live to see another day and eventually venture into the frozen wasteland beyond.

once i get "pre-paid", ill consider the "pre-order". till then...
Look interesting.

Unfortunately, devs says that:
yup, I avoided this thread 'cause I wanted to double-check some stuff. So, I imagine you won't be happy - but here's the situation. Yes, we plan to support Mac, but probably not on day one. But there are no plans to support Linux at the moment. We don't want to exclude Linux owners - but we know that we can't make it happen right now. We're focusing all our efforts to publish the Windows PC build. I can't say if we're ever going to add Linux support - because I don't want to promise you things that we are not sure we can deliver.
Why the game developed by Polish studio does not have Polish audio? Shame on them...

budejovice: Poland was complicit in the Holocaust.
So? Every "Western" country was complicit in the Holocaust, with the sole exception of Israel, but they sure try to make up for it. If you're boycotting everything Holocaust-adjacent, how come you're online?

Darvond: Hmm.

So it's Banished but with cold and steam, or is there more to it?
Cold, steam, and authoritarianism.

Looks interesting, but I don't like the many unconnected gears. Such a steampunk cliché.
I might buy it if they release it for Linux.
Does it take place on Earth or some fantasy world?
This game looks interesting. Wishlisted for now.
I was wondering: the devs sure like their games grim. Which is good, grim is a good change of pace.

I'm sorry, but you don't know what are you talking about. Do you know anything about Polish Underground State and Polish government-in-exile during World War II? Do you know what we were doing with criminals collaborating with nazis and with "shmaltsovniks"? Do you know what were Karski's reports and what was reaction of Western governments on Polish authorities reporting situation of our Jewish citizens?

Lexor: Why the game developed by Polish studio does not have Polish audio? Shame on them...
For obvious economic reasons - it just costs and expected profit from our market is probably quite scant...
It's a bit like the Italian resistance. Nobody ever talk about them, even if they played a major role since the rise of Fascism (which, unlike the Nazis, were not put in charge democratically but usurped the power and overthrew the fomrer order).
We had Mussolini, so we were all bad. Who cares if half the population was against the regime.

Every family had at least a death both in the regular army and in the resistance. Still, the French and Norwegian get all the glory. Deserved, mind me, but there were lots of good people even on the other front.

I'm tempted to actually preorder this one. With the 10% discount and the FPP it would end up being a reasonable price for a new game, and if a sale does start this monday, ill probably find something to spend the FPP on.

Crosmando: Does it take place on Earth or some fantasy world?
It takes place in Australia, so 50:50.

No, just kidding. It's supposed to be Earth; you're playing as Londoners (or at least they play'd as them on stream, maybe it'll be random, dunno), you can encounter other nations.
Super excited to play this. Read an article about it a while back and I'm glad its from the same developers as This War of Mine, one of my favorite games the year it came out. We don't get a lot of city builders, as its a niche but beloved sub-genre. I can't wait to see what this one brings.
