No Man's Sky a science-fiction game set in an infinite procedurally generated galaxy, is available to pre-order now — DRM-free on GOG.com

Intergalactic travel changes the notion of time. Unimaginable speeds connect impossibly distant worlds, dilating lifetimes, blending generations. A round-trip may find your world aged and unrecognizable, separated from your loved ones, irrevocably alien. In an intergalactic society, only the few set off towards the stars — explorers, those unafraid and with nothing to lose. They set off never to come back as far as our lifetimes are concerned. And thus, we still look up at an infinite sky, now within our reach, yet still untouched — a no man's land, a No Man's Sky.

No Man's Sky promises discovery of an infinite, uncharted universe. Its billions of stars, planets, unknown living creatures, breathtaking sights and lonely wastelands — all seamlessly connected — populated with explorers drawn to the distant mysteries of the horizon, eager to leave a permanent mark in their wake.
The frontier is merciless and dangerous. Exposed to a universe of extremities in your fragile suit and ship, you'll need resources and upgrades to get far — as well as the means stand your ground in fight.
Whether you journey to the center of it all or seek out the farthest reaches of existence, the trip will not be simple or dull. You'll catalogue things unseen, discover alien artifacts and reveal mysteries of the universe. If you survive.

The pre-order incentive for No Man's Sky includes the Horizon Omega ship — faster engines, better guns, all to kickstart your trip and help you survive longer on the interstellar journey.

Reach out and touch the No Man's Sky, available for pre-orders now, DRM-free on GOG.com! The game is scheduled to be released on June 21st in North America, June 22nd in Europe and Australia, and June 24th in the UK and Rest of World.

HunchBluntley: LOL, the "This happens to @ubisoft and @ea ALL THE TIME" part was a joke -- the idea being that those two companies also operate out of a single shitty building and "borrow" each other's cable/Internet when their own is out. :D

Shhhh, we`re trying to tease Ixamyakxim ;)

Plus, we all know EA really reside under a bridge ;p
I thought that was Digital Homicide? (Assuming "lives under a bridge" = "is a troll") =D

I think it`s a very close call as to which of the two are the Trolliest.

Hmm, nope, definitely EA.
Does anyone know if GOG will be selling No Man's Sky DRM-free?

I initially assumed it would be linked to Steam's servers, but then I realized it's being sold here, too. .-.
All of GOG's games are DRM free

Thank you for responding. To double-check, the website FAQ agrees - all DRM-free! :)
Old news, but the game is now gone gold.

Not old news to me, no. Thank you for the link; one + for you & congratulations to the dev team :)
Seems things have gone tits up yet again, at least for the UK.

"...coming to PS4 on August 9th in North America and August 10th in Europe, and on PC worldwide on August 12th."

Soooo, that world wide global type release, has been cancelled/shit canned or wtf you want to call it.

Also, that "PC worldwide", someone said Aus' still listed as 10th.

Coming to PS4 on August 9th in North America and August 10th in Europe, and on PC worldwide on August 12th.

"Until recently we believed the PC version would release on the same date, too, but an update to the No Man’s Sky website suggests it won’t hit PC till August 12.

It looks to be a regional thing; in the UK, the No Man’s Sky Steam page reportedly shows an August 12 launch, while in the US it still says August 9. Here in Australia where I am we’ve got August 10 – we’re usually one day behind the US just because we live in the glorious future, even though the game may unlock at exactly the same time."

The text on the game card here appears to have just been updated to say "August 12 worldwide." Given GOG's standard testing procedures, there's a good chance the blues will need all 3 extra days to get the build ready for upload. :)

Ye gads, I never even thought about that lol.
Good point.

Even more reason I'm glad I'm waiting for after release to see how things go.

Oddly, I got an email saying the game was on a sale other night, yet price was the same.
Perhaps it was a *poke* reminder that it was up for grabs ;)

Luned: August 12
Apparently that's not the case everywhere, though. I checked the Aus date on Steam and it says August 11... Someone in the UK says August 12, and another in the US says August 9. These were within the last 24 hours.

But I'm guessing GOG will just wait until the last release date to be 'fair', even if Steam gets to stagger the release.
I'm not complaining though, as the price for it here is the absolute best for me anywhere. At Steam or Humble I'd have to pay $60USD which converts to $80AUD. Here, the price is $62AUD.

I'm not bothered by few days after ps4. And IIRC in the past gog released first-day-release games same as everybody.
Hillary approves.
Spoilers, so I'll just link to the text mentioning them.
P.S. Not really that spoilerish, but some folk are fussy gits ;p
Gameplay footage, so sort of spoiler, but not really.
It just shows them mining, feeding an animal etc. 26 minutes clip.
CTRL mouse wheel to zoom in, it is looooow resolution lol.

Anyhoe...
Eurgh!

Just watched that 26 minute clip & it is off putting.
Why are devs these days insistent on sticking huge bits of the UI right in front of game play, instead of in a corner where it isn't blocking the action or main part of the screen?

Even when they do, it is still spamming a larger than needed "teleport items to the ship..." at bottom right.

Like the mining where the huge icon just sits there, or that part of the UI bottom right that sometimes nags about things like "nth more items to repair engines" etc. Talking of mining, you can destroy bits & anything above those magically levitates? o0

Worse, achievements.
WTF!? Bad enough that steam spams them (although if I buy, it'll be through GOG so less spammy for me), but sticking them in the game too?
At one point, just as he finds that plant that can damage him, the game not only pops up some achievement front & centre, but it also shrinks the game screen even more by letter boxing the game. Same when he scans his "pet" thing.

Huge "you have messages".

I hope the UI is scalable, but unlikely

Also, when down near the plant, he just walks right through the roots that are straddling the area & they are still in perfect condition when he returns there.

Also also, it looked like it shows both keybind & controller binds, not just the one that you're using.

I'll have to see more footage, but it is looking less of a purchase for me alas.
