Reglisse: So glad to see the Linux version here ^^
I'm getting so sick of seeing new things that I want with "Windows" and "Linux" against them but not "Mac".

This is completely ridiculous. Come on GOG, we need a Mac version as well. Please!

NB I know this isn't GOG's fault. The idiot developers have elected not to do a Mac version, for reasons that seem unfathomable (having originally announced it). But if they can do Linux, for heaven's sake, why the heck can't we have a Mac one?

Grrrrrrr. I'd really like this game, but if the developers think I'll buy the Windows version to play on the Mac, they can think again. They're simply going to lose sales.

Very, very annoying.

mechmouse: Wishlisted, son might like it, but may be too complex for him.

This is the type of game you buy for your son so you can play it with him. Seriously, if the game is kid-appropriate but perhaps too complicated, play it together -- it's educational, fun, and cultivates good taste.
Looks quite an interesting game but the minimum requirements indicate my PC will barely run it, let alone make it look like it is in the screenshots. And it's too pricey to perform experiments..

As for the pre-ordering, 20% off plus the OST for free seems to be a good incentive to buy it (i don't count the extra locomotive skin; that's silly, even though i'm pretty sure it will be available as paid DLC), at least much more than other pre-orders, but don't forget that you're still paying ~40 euros for a game you don't know much about and may as well be not *that* good as you may expect.

Ha! Gaming Minds Studios are the developers of this game.

They made:

Grand Ages: Medieval -pile of shit game.
Patrician IV -biggest pile of shit ever and ruined the great series.
Port Royale 3 -big meh and ruined another great series.

As much as I love trains, I'm pretty sure this going to be another disappointment from this lazy devs. :/
Still wishlisted it and will keep an eye, but definitely not going to preorder.

Just to throw out a Let's Play link in case anyone wants to see the game in action:

*shrug* From what I watched, I didn't like how the game did stations. Staffing seems to not be well thought out either.
Kalypso games always look good, but then they go and do something stupid to break them.

I bought Mashinky on Steam instead. as it looks a whole lot better. http://store.steampowered.com/app/598960/Mashinky/
Pre-ordering a purely digital good that is in no danger of running out of stock is so nonsensical I just don't know why people do it.

As for this game, it looks interesting, but I've had some bad experiences with Kalypso games, they just aren't very good at delivering polished games imo. And anyway, I'm still having fun playing Railroad Tycoon 3 from time to time, not sure I need another railroad company management sim.

I watched some gameplay videos of it, and it does intrigue me. Yet as far as I could tell only passenger runs will actually earn one money in that game, excluding all the cargo runs required to build better infrastructure. That just struck me as a really odd design choice.

I'm going to want to play it on release anyway (cuz trains), and I can get a substantial discount and possibly an "exclusive" soundtrack if I pay a couple weeks earlier.
The graphics look good, the game comes with a Linux version and even German language is supported. So far all is good. Let's see if they've managed to implement a good simulation engine.
I'd be cautious and wait for reviews. Gaming Minds Studios' games look nice on screenshots and trailers but they are unfortunately rather bland and uninspired. Their last game (Grand Ages: Medieval) was especially awful and it felt like the game played by itself. Set up a few cities and connect them with trade routes, go AFK, unlock a few upgrades here and there, repeat.
It then occured to me that I played several of their games before, namely Port Royale 3 (only for few hours though) and Patrician IV. Not terrible, just boring and without any real challenge or anything to keep the player engaged. This is obviously just my opinion and I'm not saying this will be a terrible game by default. Just wait until there are more information about this game's quality. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
