Ho Ho yes! Free classic, Redux added to the catalog with an awesome launch discount, and 2 up for preorder. What a great day! :)

Garrison72: There appears to be another kind of chainsaw katana in the vanilla game. Saw it in some recent footage.
at least, the developer can add that exclusive weapon to deluxe edition.
Looks like PAX visitors got their own exclusive.

JMSarDev: Still. The point is... If it is as you say a profitable market... Why would they don´t do it? I can only find 2 answers:

1. You are wrong and the costs of porting the game (Or making the part using code for Windows with a framework for Linux/Mac OS or developing it by youself) are more than the expected profits.

2. The Linux Community is not showing to the editors how much money are they ready to pay and so, the Linux/Mac OS players expected revenues is incorrectly show.

In both cases, what you need is a way to show the developers that, your community is prepared to pay what it cost a game (Personally, almost everyone I know that uses Linux haven´t payed for any of their software or just very very little, but it can be my personal experience). Linux Community is BIG enough to receive games? I guess so. But you are all so much scattered around your own distros that is hard to know how many real players are there.

LiefLayer: I'm on mac right now (but I still use windows and linux, because I like to be OS free, I don't want mac or linux to be the next windows-evil-thing) and I pay only for old games (wine) and new cross-platform games. that's my way of ask for cross-platform support.

I think the answer is 3:
most publisher think it is better to use drm like denuvo that only work on windows, and since the mac/linux market is new they still act like 10 years ago (they think is ok to port a game 3-5 years later).
they need to learn and the only way is to stop buy not cross-platform new games the same way we on gog stop to pay for drm games.

I can understand no mac and linux support for old games (since the market is new) and wine is good for that reason (wine is really good for old games port).

PS. check the new ubuntu bash on windows 10. it is still a beta but I really like it... I have nothing against windows, I just like freedom (I want to be able to change if I want).
I like open source and I use many open source software, but I don't mind good closed source software (games are closed source but I think most linux user wants them... and I'm still one of them even if it is not my main OS).
I get know what you think, but right now the "best" Linux users market statistics are Steam related ones and...

http://www.pcworld.com/article/3040719/linux/linux-usage-on-steam-continues-to-fall.html

Yeap... Not great...

Getting games on multi-platform will be something like releasing them in GOG. Starts with indie and small ones, and progressively, I hope we see more as developing tools evolve.

You want pay for games that are in your platform? I understand you.
Games like this not appearing still on Linux for launch date at least? I can understand them.

For all the people involved in the post-launch support. Launch days become a nightmare. I think it´s better to handle 1 place for that, or 1 SO. So you can focus mostly on game bugs. And once the game is pretty much stable and solid start with the port.

But this same case is the same as if you would be mad with... EA for not launching Titanfall 2 on GOG. You want it here, sure. But we both agree that by their side is normal not to launch the game here.

Also... FIRST answer to this thread is asking about crossplay (Also asked through Twitter to both GOG and Devolver) and still no answer.

Dogepower: Damn https://www.gog.com/game/shadow_warrior_complete is banned for me in Germany. Is there any way for me to get it here on gog? As far as I have understood the game is for free currently, right? Could someone maybe gift it to me?

Edit: Thanks a lot deja65 already gave me a key, thanks a lot for being so kind! You guys are awsome, gog is probably the best gaming community on the net!
Game isn't banned in Germany it is indexed which means adults only like all the other games which were removed from GOG (DE). A certified age verification would be needed to sell those game in Germany but GOG doesn't have this and is not interested in implementing one.
Well if such a system is going to cost $x/transaction you can understand GOG's apprehension.
It would be great if somebody could also gift me the classic bundle as GoG currently doesn't let me get it myself. :/

(Which is quite odd because I seem to have it on Steam already...)

Alternatively, I'm pretty sure that Devolver would be able to get the game off the index entirely if they just submitted it for re-evaluation to the BPJM. Of course, that would cost money, but it's not exactly unlikely to succeed with such an old game, considering titles like Fallout 3 and Gears of War were also "liberated" that way.

This link only sends me to the games list. Are we bending down to the damn "Jugendschutz" in Germany?
You are _not_ a German company, you should say "F**k you!" to the BPjM, at least that's what i would do.

Can someone please gift me the game or do i need to find a trustworthy proxy? :/

Your wish is my command :) Enjoy the freebie.
I'm concerned about some of the changes, but the previous game is one of my favorite games, and that 20% loyalty discount is nice, so... I'll bite. Preordered.

avatar
Yeiiow: Meh... pre-order exclusive weapons...
Preorder exclusives suck, but they eventually made all preorder items for the previous game available to all players, so I'm hoping they'll do the same for this one.
Thanks for the Redux (but PLEASE bring the Linux version!).

SW2 must have some potential, but my hardware can barely run SW2013 with pretty much everything set to low. Also, I have to say, after initial impression, the game kinda falls short on many fronts. Pet peeve of mine is the level design, which is aesthetically nice but it won't take you long to find out the world is made of invisible walls and the areas you can navigate are quite simple and linear. All the detail you see is just backdrop, nothing you can interact with, nothing you can feel, nothing you should bother with. And it looks less impressive when you notice just how much copy-pasta there is. It gets boring to loot two dozen identical looking closets for a few coins or bullets in each. There are are other issues, like the combat is solid but not great, it just gets repetitive and lacks depth.

I'll wait for a good discount and a time when I'm more likely to have the hardware to run it well.

AlienMind: It took NINE DAYS for the newest Deus Ex to be cracked
avatar
mobutu: It's not cracked, yet.
3DM did it. Look it up. And I bet they had it already zero days after release because they already removed Denuvo from ‘FIFA 16’, ‘Just Cause 3’, and ‘Tomb Raider: The Rise’,”, so it was all the same to them. It only took nine days for it to get out in the wild I guess.

CharlesGrey: Because, if 0.83% is the total percentage of Linux users among gamers ( which could very well be off, one way or the other ), realistically only a fraction of those will purchase each individual game release
The number 0.83% was from some other dude claiming this is the total number of sold Linux games on Steam where 100% is the total sold games overall with mac and linux and all platforms.
